Im swapping a new to me motor in my wj and cannot for the life of me find what lengths the bolts are from engine to transmission bell housing? I have found the uppers are 3/8 x 16 but how long?? And the lowers are 7/16 x 14 but how long? Is there only 4 bolts? Ive done a bunch of looking, and can't find this info? I have Googled everything i can think of and have only found lengths for 2001 and under ..IMO it seems like the 2002 is the oddball for everything?? Is there a detailed pic of what bolt goes where on for eng. to trans. Bolt up?

Stick a probe down the hole and measure it's length after it hits the bottom. Subtract 1/2" for production power tapping, and try a bolt of that length. The hole is drilled on a machine and the threads tapped the same way. The tap is set to stop 1/4" from the bottom of the hole and the lead of the tap is usually 1/4" from it's tip. If the bolt gets tight before the flanges are together, subtract another 1/4".
What happened to the bolts you took out? I believe they started using a different transmission in 2002 with the 4.7L.
