Didn't realize I had tranny and oil leaks. Just did an oil change and put in transmission fluid so I thought I was good bout about a week later I would step on the gas and it wouldn't accelerate but more tranny fluid and it got slightly better. Couple days after that. My wife used the car and the last stop she made the car would start but wouldn't go into reverse. It still starts up but only shifts forward .Before I start anything. Can I get some advice as to why it won't go in reverse

Welcome to the forum.

It is best to also identify the vehicle with the engine.

Operation w/ excessively low fluid can cause permanent damage, such as wear to the bands and frictions. Those parts are replaced during a transmission rebuild.

Check the fluid level when it's at operating temp. Run the car, put the parking brake on, move the gear selector through each gear and pause briefly. Then check the fluid level. Do you know what transmission it is?

It's a 44 re I think. Ok to give you a better understanding of what's wrong with the jeep I'll explain it a little better. I can start the jeep and when I put it in Reverse it doesn't move when I put it i in neutral it goes forward. I would then put it all the way down to first then move it up to 2nd then drive then when I put it in neutral it actually is in neutral and I'd slow down And try n put it in Reverse and it'll stop but it wouldn't go reverse. Also my 2wd doesn't work anymore
