Won't go forward or reverse in 2wd but will go only forward in 4lo
2003 jeep grand Cherokee.. was driving it when the engine revved real high but lost momentum. Glided it to the side of the road and tried all the gears with little success. It would drive about 100 feet before it would stop again. Tried forward and reverse same thing. I could put in 4 lo and it would go forward but not reverse. It made a loud grinding noise in reverse but I felt it engage just no motion. Any suggestions?

Sounds like your transmission is slipping so bad that it will only move in 4x4 low, that's typical for a Chrysler automatic to do that when it goes out.

Start by checking the fluids.
Might have better luck posting in the Grand Cherokee forum, btw. The regular XJ Cherokees only came with the pretty reliable AW4 tranny.
