2002 with P1762 code special edition grand Cherokee
other than checking connections is there any voltage or resistance tests i can do on pressure sensor and solenoid for the transmission outside of the transmission?
where is the transmission number on the transmission or how can i tell by the vin ?
originally it wasn't down shifting into 1st 2nd , 3rd, overdrive worked now its only in 1st.
what happen was i was driving it maybe 50mph and it drop down to 1st gear.

my 03 grand cherokee Laredo is throwing a p1762 code. It's had the code for a few months, but recently my car won't shift out of first. Goes from park, neutral reverse and drive fine, just won't come out of first while driving. Even when manually putting it in second gear. Did you ever find a solution?

 

it was the sensor..
I couldn't get enough details how to check it myself so i bought a replacement then decided to buy the factory one..
so i changed the oil same time.. but thought what if this is not my issue..but i would have taken it somewhere then

I took the chance and it work out..
Hope it works out

 

I ended up replacing the governor pressure sensor and solenoid, along with the pan gasket. So far it's doing good, thanks for replying!!
