Someone please help me. I finally saved up enough money for the 2001 jeep grand charokke(limited) ,I had been drooling over on the car lot. 2 days after I boughht it the engine went out(and the starter-but I replaced that). It takes a 4.7v8,but with 5 kids,I can't afford the $2000 (plus labor) that the engine cost. I really love the car,and I really want to fix it. Is there a easier to find-cheaper engine I can put in it? Its in the shop now. By the way-when I got everything behind the door panels was disconnected,winows,mirrors,door locks,ect. Is it possible for that to short the starter or screw up the motor? I am so stuck- I don't know anything about cars,and despite the fact that the car broke down after 2 days-I miss driving it. :-(
