Welcome to CF! Just keep in mind this is an opinion site so all replies may not be factual. They are based on other people's fixes of their own problems.

Having said that, first thing to check is the cable plugs on the PCM (powertrain control module or "computer"). If they are clean and tight, then you have to look at sensors. The PCM on your model is on the firewall behind the coolant reservoir.

Your symptoms are the same as a CPS (crankshaft position sensor) about to die, especially if the stalling is getting more frequent. This is mounted on the bellhousing on the driver's side of your 4.0. Problems with the CPS usually set a trouble code.

You should also check your fuel pressure. Again, weak pressure is an indication the pump is dying or the fuel filter is plugged. Unfortunately, this may only show up as or just after it stalls, which is hard to catch. Fuel pressure problems don't set a trouble code except as a multi-cylinder missfire.

SO, check your PCM plugs, change the fuel filter, and check all the wiring harnesses for frayed or melted insulation and clean connectors. Your WJ is a lot more congested under the hood than the older ZJs and harder to find problems with the hoses and wiring.

There is a circuit test for the CPS, but IDK how to do it.
