I've got a 1998 grand Cherokee limited, recently it started stalling and when that happens it won't start back up for a while, I have replaced the pickup coil. When you turn the key on you can hear the fuel pump start priming the rail, I really could use some help here, it's my daily driver, it's got 186,xxx on it, any help would be great.

There are several posts/threads about this and similar problems (Stalling/dying) on this forum. Thats what got me looking around the PCM connectors -- mine turned out to be a broken latch on the connector and once I secured the connector, the problem went away.
The posts here also talk about the screws for the cover of the PCM being a little too long and intermittently shoring out the circuit board. There are serveral other references to other problem that can cause this type of problem, but look at the connectors on the PCM first. It's behind the radiator reservoir on the upper Passenger-side of the firewall.
Good luck--I hope it's a quick fix for you.

put your key in the drivers door and turn back and forth about 3 times and that will reset your security. Mine does that after i disconnect the battery or it is getting low. Worth a try
The first time it happened was after I jacked it up to change to brake pads and rotors, and I changed out the tail light and trim signal, none of that would have anything to do with it would it?

thats what i had to do to mine once i installed my stereo.
Should there be any play in the connection of the fuel line to the rail? I can move it back an forth about 1/2 cm do you think the o ring is bad and could be letting air in? And that could be the problem? I'm replacing the CPS today just wondering if the fuel line could be the issue
