Default 16” Stock Wheels?

Did a search. Plugged 16” into the search box. Nothing found.

Did 16” wheels come stock, or as an option on any 84-2001 variant of the Cherokee?

Xjs and Zjs have a 5x4.5 bolt pattern. The WJ has a 5x5 bolt pattern. That's 99-04 Grand Cherokee. They require 16" wheels to clear the dual piston brake calipers.

Thanks for the reply!

So it sounds like you are saying that the 16”s off the Grand Cherokee will not work?

IT guy here in learning mode 🤣

They will if you use a pattern adapter, which is also a spacer. I personally don't like using spacers or adapters, but that's me. Excuse me for asking, but what do you want 16s for anyway? The tires are more expensive than 15s and those you can get taller if you want, like I had 33x12.5x15s on my Chevy truck.

Dont like the idea or adapters either.

Just trying to get a little higher to get over the occasional tree that has fallen on the dirt road to the hunting grounds.

Didn’t consider taller tires. Will look into that. Especially since I have a set of 15” alloys off a Loredo purchased for parts. The only problem there is they need to be refinished.

Going back to my original post, it looks like there were 16” optional black steel wheels for the XJ (at least for a 91’).

I have a set of 16" wheels that came off of my friends XJ, they might have come from a ZJ but they are factory Jeep wheels, with 5x4.5 bolt pattern.

I should have clarified myself. The ZJ in question is a 98 limited

Remember when you go to 2" taller tires, you're only raising the differentials by 1".
