Default -1 degree camber on driver side.

I have no idea how I did this at all, but I used to work for a Mexican Restaurant in KY and after I left I noticed my front driver side tire was wearing excessively on the outside. I've had my alignment checked and rechecked, the toe-in, no problem. Firestone can't seem to give me an answer for the problem.I've discussed this with my neighbor and my dad, including Firestone. Firestone seems to think it's a bent frame. My neighbor says it sounds like bad balljoints, upper or lower. My dad a retired Master Mechanic thinks it could be the ball joints as well. I my dad if it could be the frame and he told me that's unlikely because if the frame bent, then the axel would crack and leak fluid.

What might be the issue that has to be replaced. I thought it could have been the wheel hub assembly, but the wheel doesn't whobble at all.. and balljoints have to be done by a shop, according to the maintenance manual.

What do I need to do?

You don't need a shop to so your ball joints. Id just go ahead and replace all ball joints and wheel bearings maybe even u joints since your in there already.

Sorry about tha Gee, didn't realize where I put this.

I guess all that work will have to wait when I get down to Florida. I honestly do not have the time nor money at my disposal to accomplish that here.

Looks like I've got some serious fun work to go when I move down to Florida. At least it will be warmer weather and I'll have a buddy helping me out.

I doubt it's the ball joints, as that would cause the tire to lean inward at the top, causing the tire to wear more on the inner edge, rather than the outer edge. I'd look at the caster angle, or possibly a bent steering knuckle. I'd do a thorough check and alignment again if necessary. JMO

PRE-ALIGNMENT INSPECTION
Before starting wheel alignment, the following
inspection is necessary and must be completed.
(1) Inspect tires for size, air pressure and tread
wear.
(2) Inspect front wheel bearings for wear or adjustment.
(3) Inspect front wheels and tires for excessive
radial or lateral runout and balance.
(4) Inspect ball studs, linkage pivot points and
steering gear for looseness, roughness or binding.
(5) Inspect suspension components for wear and
noise.

Ya I'll have to do all that when I get to Florida. Just don't have enough time to rip my Jeep apart with finals coming up in less than a week
