I bought a hitch, bezel and wiring harness from the dealer for my 07 grand cherokee limited. All three came with instructions, and the hitch part was easy. I ran the wires up to the fuse panel in the engine compartment and hooked up the wires, it is not plug and play. My instructions have a few labelling errors, and I can't figure out where the white with purple stripe goes. It says to solder it to the white with brown stripe in cav 13 of one of the harness connectors, but there is no wire in that slot, and no wires that color. It also says to remove wire if applicable, to get these new wires in the harness. The yellow wire is supposed to go to CAV 31, but there's already a wire in that slot, that's where the "remove wire if applicable " comes in. Disconnecting those wires means other things like tail lights don't work. I think something got lost in translation, most of the sheet is in Spanish. Anyone else wire this harness?

 

ive added a pdf of the instructions. my question is about the part that says " remove wire if applicable" there is a wire in cav 16. do i remove it and then replace it with the DG (dark green) wire? removing a wire from this fuse block makes me a little nervous.

Were you able to determine what to do? I have a 2007 grand cherokee and am also trying to wire up the factory harness and am nervous about unhooking existing wires in cav 16 and cav 31.

 

What a mess that is! It's in French too. If you want my opinion, have the dealer install it.
