just picked up a 05 Grand it shut off on a guy on the high way a small group headed up to the up from down state and he just asked if I new anybody that would give him a couple hundred so he didn't have to deal with it. its loaded in great shape leather and real clean except for a rust spot on driver fender at bottom easy fix. Its loaded and everything works except the 4.7 all options so I bought it he signed the title and went on so anybody ever deal with a 4.7 v8 even if I have to put a motor in it think I did okay like new tires and slip for new rotors and brakes on front and pads on rear about 2 weeks ago. Just a quick look I think maybe timing chain broke it has 153000 on it so not high What do you think worth fixing?

 

Depending on which chain broke, that whole bank of cylinders could have cracked pistons and bent valves. I saw a 3.7 Patriot that had the same problem exactly. The problem with those 2 engines is the chain idlers are just plastic shoes and when they break, all hell breaks loose. I think a 5.7 Hemi would fit nicely, but you'd have to redo the electronics. Finding good used 4.7's is like finding rooster teeth.
