Arrow Need a performance chip for my 95 Jeep Grand cherokke that saves my mpg

hello, I am 16 and I just got a 95 jeep grand Cherokee with a 318 in it.
I currently get 14mpg city.

I would like to improve my gas mpg; and I heard of these badass computer chips that increase performance and gas milaege.
search: 'jeep performance chip' on ebay and google and you will find many performance chips that increase youre mpg.

do any of you recommend a certain one?
I would like to spend about like $150 and try to reach about 20mpg city.

Yeah, you might be able to squeeze another mpg or two, but ther eis no way that V8 is gonne get 20+ round town, my I6 only gets like 21 highway, 16 city, so, i'd say you are out of luck.

There is only one way to find out.
I found a bunch of performance tuning and mpg improving stuff.

you are not going to get 20mpg out of the 5.2 to help improve mpg's put on an intake, an exhaust, loose extra weight (junk youre hauling around), and be easy on the pedals.

and to the list of things posted-

this one gives you the added bonus of restriction and broken bits of plastic.

fuel ionizer.......really?...... you might as well take 2 speaker magnets and zip-tie them to the fuel line. they're made out of the same thing.

"It has also undergone Government testing in the USA and Australia." ......

yeah, im thinking that whole website is just a bunch of bs.

I know for a fact that the magnets are going to give you nothing. I have them on and got absolutely no gains out of them In fact myth busters has a show that tested them and they found them worthless as well.

Zmax (mechanics formula) is one that I saw gains with...and you should have seen how black my regular oil change was after the first treatment.

Jeeps are made to crawl/climb not cruise...If you bought it to save yourself money on gas you might as well sell it now...or buy yourself some ultra-light shoes to help keep the lead foot off the gas

skip the chip and put the money towards a superchips or hypertech tuner.i have 2 durangos one of which has the same 5.2 that's in your jeep.eventually the computer learns around the chip thus making it useless.with the tuner you can go in and actually change the settings.

zmax and seafoam are just cleaning the system and returning the milage to near original prior to all the gunk in the engine.

Tornado intake things, magnets on fuel lines, and ebay chips are fakes and often times do more harm then good. Add the word fake to the front of your google chip search and read about the millions of scammed people.

like someone posted before, if you wanna gain milage, you need to stay off the pedal and shed some weight. Most aftermarket parts with performance gains actually decrease milage (in order to increase performance)

For instance an intake increases flow of air into the combustion chamber but that will throw off the air/fuel mixture and the computer will correct this problem by adding more fuel. Cold air or not, you are gonna lose milage to gain power.

Conditions and driver behavior are the two biggest factors in MPG. You'll get your best MPG if you keep the Tach. below 2,000 RPM's.

There is a device which can be built that produces hydrogen gas and injects it into your fuel system and is said to increase mileage by 50%, google Water4Gas and you'll come up with a bunch of different sites that produce hydrogen fuel. Whether it performs as stated is a matter of opinion, I've read many testimonials that says it works.
