Need wiring pinout for overhead console in 2001 Grand Cherokee. Installing it into my 2000 xj. Just need pin outs for both plugs. I am mainly worried about just getting light to work. I tried to plug into factory harness and didn't work. Just sounded the horn

 

I just want to get the compass, lights and temp working.

So I have lights working properly. I have compass.
need to know how to hook up the fuel sensor wire in the overhead console to my xj. Is there a wire in the factory harness for that? Or do I run one to the tank harness?

 

On the Grand Cherokee, that information comes from the Body Control Module being fed from the PCM. I doubt very seriously you'll ever get it working in the XJ. The lights are simple. The compass is built into the console. The outside air temp comes from the BCM and PCM reading the sensor in the grill. The PCM computes fuel mileage by calculating distance traveled and injector on-time. The console is programmable in 5 languages and english/metric measurements. That's why it needs a computer with that programming.
