Finally got a winch and picked up a welder. I know neither are the very best but we'll see how it goes. Still have to get some stuff together but the next phase is gonna be rad
Skyjacker black max dual steering stabilizer kit for a jk I modified to fit my ZJ. I wanted it because I drive a lot of long trips on sketchy Oklahoma roads. Had to notch the bracket to center it on the axle Welded the studs to the bracket to eliminate the nut and bolt on the back of the bracket to clear my track bar The stud and nut stuck out about an inch and contacted the track bar at full compression of suspension

At the price point that badlands winch lives in I'd argue it is the best. No shame there.

Good work though, keep up the progress
Thanks, I haven't got to try it out yet but hopefully it lives up to what I've heard. I figured 12k should be plenty to pull my jeep fully loaded without stressing too much.
Tboned some moron on my way to work, she wasn't even looking and pulled out in front of me. Tried to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge and might have if she didn't lock up the brakes when she finally saw me sliding towards her, totally her fault Frame is bent and buckled in several places, abs smashed, axle pushed back about an inch at least, however the trail forged steering is perfect so definitely a good investment I will use it on the next one. Radiator toasted, all the fluid was gone by the time I made it up the hill but unluckily I was close to home so it didn't overheat. If I keep it I'm turning it into a buggy. Maybe a future build if it doesn't make me too sick looking at it all smashed up after so much work and time and money already went into it
Wow man that sucks !!! Glad it happened close enough to make it home....Hopefully her insurance will buy you something comparable if that's what you want...
So it's time to start a new, and by new I mean old. Well, 1990 old. Not a zj or even an xj, yes the trusty yj.picking up basically a shell on frame and axles for super cheap, gonna stuff the zj motor, an nv4500 and 231 in it and start bending tubes. I pick it up Thursday but still waiting for insurance on my ZJ. Still stuck but slowly moving forward Got 4 inch super lift springs already, I plan on using my wheels and tires, rear discs, shocks. ive accepted it's gonna take as long as it takes to get it done but i am more than up to the challenge
It looks like a great starting point to swap all your drivetrain over...Doesn't look to have much rust at first glance...Most of those older ones around here usually get sold off for a reason...And you can spot the rust from distance long before you can read the price...lol....Nice score...

Yeah I'm picking it up tomorrow from a buddy from work he's got tons of jeeps and wanted to help me out after the wreck. Frame and floor is rust free I rolled around under it for a good hour poking around. It's just basically a blank slate to have fun with. 5.2 with a 5 speed in a tin can sounds like a good time to me
