Got the radiator out. Didn't take long. Maybe a hour.
I'm going to solder it up tomarrow and flush it, then tomarrow flush the whole system.
After next Wednesday I won't be doing much. Going up to the mountains for the summer and not going to have any of my Jeeps.
Will post pics soon. Sorry I keep saying that and not doing so, but Photobucket is screwing up.

Well I'm up in the mounatins for the summer, but before I left I tried to solder the radiator. stupid me didn't realize its plastic. so in August I should have a new radiator, and possibly tires and rims. will also put on a adjustable trac bar and longer brake lines.

I bought a lowered Acura Integra from a friend so I've been driving that and haven't been too worried about my Jeep, but I miss it so I decided to finally fix it.
Haven't done much to it since my trip to Uwharrie. Tomorrow I'm getting a junkyard radiator, and longer brake lines. I'm also going to install a adjustable track bar I had sitting around.
After that I am going to try and do another trip or two to Uwharrie before they close.
Thats my current plan. Will post progress soon.

I found a almost brand new radiator in a 98 XJ with Up Country package just like mine. Its at Pull-A-Part in Charlotte.
Installed it this morning but the pully behind the mechanical fan, and the fan itself, wont go on straight and the pully wants to rub.
Not sure what to do about that. Otherwise it runs great.

Got the fan on straight and its running great now. All I need to do is put some ATF, Oil, and Antifreeze in it and I think it will be good. Also going to need a new battery since this one went dead and my other wont fit.
The cat is rattling and is very annoying but I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that yet.

Well I put ATF in, and so its shifting good.
The cat wouldnt come off so we took the whole exhaust off and fixed the cat.
Currently putting the exhaust back on then im putting the adjustable track bar on and align it.
Me, my sister, her boyfriend, and one of my friends are going to Uwharrie this weekend and im hoping all goes good.

Im about to give up on this Jeep and just get a title for my 89. The cooling problems came back. I fixed the cooling problems, and was letting it run and the oil pressure dropped to 0 at idle. Im honestly tired of messing with this thing.
When I get my diesel F350 sold ill see what happens with this.
The compression is terrible. I might rebuild the motor, or just sell this damn thing. Not sure yet.

Finally some pics for yall!
My radiator I got

Flushed the heater core

Put fresh antifreeze and water in.
After I put it in. Hoods propped up because all I had was a marine battery from my F350 thats too tall.

Cat was rattling and wouldnt come off of the downpipe so I just took the whole thing off and fixed it.
Video of rattling below.

This is how it was running that night. A little warm because I hadnt burped it yet but good oil pressure.

Few days later after I burped it, it was running perfectly.
I checked the antifreeze again and it was white and milky. Flushed it again and put more new antifreeze in and it still looks green so im not sure if I have a blown headgasket or not. I hope not. The oil looks fine.
Then the oil PSI went low and then went from 40 one night ay warm idle, and then to dead ZERO. When I gave it a little gas or turned ext. Idle on, it went back up to 15. Im guessing the sender went bad when I was flushing the heater core because it got it soaking wet. Going to replace it, do a oil change and put a decent oil filter on and get that Fram off.

Also pulled the adjustable track bar off my 89 since its just sitting.

It was supposed to go on the 98 today, but the factory track bar wouldnt come off the frame end, so I took off the whole mount. And then the axle side wouldnt come off with a breaker bar and a jack pushing on it. Not sure how im going to get that off. Will worry about that tomarrow.
Any ideas on the brand?

Prepared the Jeep for track bar swap

This bolt wouldnt come out. It was spinning inside the track bar. Cut each end off with the angle grinder.

Track bar ready and greased

Old one out

New one in

Well I am positive it has a blown headgasket.
Going to replace it sometime this week.
Really hoping thats whats causing my compression problem, and that the head isnt warped or cracked.
