Default Yet another High School budget build

So, I have been creeping the build thread area for a while now and I have decided to go and make one myself. I have a 2000 XJ with 182k on it with the Upcountry suspension package. This is gonna be a pretty slow build because I don't have a ton of money to put into it. This is my first car but I looked at almost 10 XJs before this one, all of the others were rusted away because of the road salt here in NY.

Anyways, here it is:

I bought it with 182k on it, no rust which is huge here in NY.

Center console was wobbly so I pieced together the old support and made it strong again, taking the console out evolved into me stripping the interior to clean it... oops.

Painted the trim with trim and bumper paint, I'm happy with the result.

Either the factory or a previous owner bed lined the entire undercarriage, I am pretty happy about that considering everything is rotted away here in NY.

New 02's to hopefully fix the CEL.

Looks like you have the factory undercoating. I think that's what saved mine as well. No rust at all... knock on wood.

Summer to-do list:

Transfer Case Fluid
Front and Rear Differential fluid, I also want to bedline the covers
Grease the front end
Rhino line the front bumper
Get LED pods to put on the front bumper

Like I said I am on a minimum wage budget so nothing too crazy is happening now, maybe a 3" RC lift in my future?

Just checked out the build sheet. You got a real nice starting point for your build. Gotta love that locker in the rear and all the skids.

So I put the new O2 sensors in and it worked out well, they were pretty stuck so I mixed together some ATF and acetone to make a penetrating fluid and it worked great.

New VS. Old

The upstream looked pretty bad

Downstream in place

No more CEL

Decided to wash it quickly, because why not.

After changing them the Jeep's exhaust stopped smelling like it was running super rich. I plugged in my OBD scanner and checked out the readings, one of them was completely bricked before but now they both change.

I changed out the spark plugs which helped with the rough idle, I don't think that they were original because i feel like they would have failed after 180k but they were NTK and they were definitely old, the gap on them was at least a quarter inch.

I also did the transfer case fluid, it was black and I feel like it was most likely original.

Power steering fluid was done too, completely black. I threw in some Lucas Oil conditioner to quiet down the whining noise and that worked.

Next on the list is the front and rear diff fluid.

Wow I just realized that's probably why my xj is just about rust free. Never new some had factory undercoating, I honestly thought that was just grime and dirt that had been on there for years. lol

Totally forgot I even made this thread, I'm not even in High School anymore.

Things I've done:

22" lightbar on the bumper
3" Zone lift with full leaf packs (install was a total disaster)
15" cragar soft 8s
31x10.5" Goodyear Duratracs
CB install
New front u-joints, calipers, rotors and brake lines becausue the brakes decided to lock up on my going 60. That was scary.
Monroe steering stabilizer
RC fixed lowers
RC adjustable track bar

I am extremely happy with how it came out, next on the list is a Dynamax cat back and some JCR rock sliders.
I wish I had some pics of it dirty but I can't seem to find them.
