Hey, I'm a new member. I'm here to make some friends and learn from people who have more experience than me. I'm a novice to this but I'm not an idiot, and I plan on learning as much as I can before I even begin the build. I started a thread a few days ago about spooling my XJ, and decided to go with Detroit lockers instead. I'll begin a thread documenting my build once I begin. Right now my XJ is getting some transmission work and getting up and running. Completely stock at the moment but eventually, I'm planning on upgrading just about every piece in the drivetrain. Starting with Detroit lockers as my first upgrade. Once I do that I'll be adding the lift, rims and tires, and 4.56 gears to start. From there I'll be swapping out the driveshafts for something more durable. From what I've heard it sounds like a Durango steering box is the way to go. After I finish the driveshafts I'm going to swap the front and rear axles - Ford high pinion 8.8 up front and ford 9" on the back. Sounds like the next step after that would be some more steering upgrades, transmission cooler, and some protection for my underside so I don't damage my tcase or gas tank. After that, I'm thinking internal roll cage, front bumper, and rear bumper with full size spare bracket, followed by a stinger bar that I'll probably only have installed when I'm taking it out on the rocks, and a light bar. If anyone has some more suggestions I'd love everyone's input. Like I said I'm here to learn from people who have more experience than me.

Actually now that I think of it I'll wait to get the Detroit lockers until I get the lift and do it all at the same time. If I get the lockers now I'll have to buy new ones that are geared for 3.73 or higher instead of the 3.54 and lower version.
