I got some things in the works. I've roasted another steering box, so I've got a good lead on what to do there. Then it's headed to Monkeybar's Offroad for some metal work, so stay tuned......

I've done a lot of searching but am unclear on which mount and end will work to convert my RE1600 trackbar to a double shear. I was looking at this Currie joint http://www.currieenterprises.com/ces...t.aspx?id=2961

It's 3/4" LH thread.

Will that work with the IRO track bar mount?

I cant seem to find any specs on the width of the mount. I've read that most are over 2 1/2" but I want to confirm it before ordering.

I'm also concerned that the bolt size is different.

Anyone else have suggestions or better ideas to convert it. I really don't want to buy a whole new TB and mount if I can avoid it.

The frame end joint is bad in mine, so I figured if I'm going to replace parts I should change it over to a double shear.

TIA!

I decided to order a Clayton doubleshear mount and a Currie JJ to convert it:

Here it is all mounted up. I had to order some shouldered spacers as the mount is 9/16 and the JJ is 7/16.

I also had some fab work done by MonkeyBars Offroad.

I ordered the ORF quarter guards without the tube and had him make a rear bumper/tire carrier. I haven't seen it yet, but he says it works great.

Was your rear bumper fabbed up in conjunction with your stinger/carrier or did you have it pre-installed and sketch up the stinger to fit accordingly?

Bumpers are the next thing on my list and I'm loving the looks of the rear stinger/carrier combo.

Yeah, the same guy did both. I sent him pics of the ORF bumper that looks similar and some stingers, and the C-rok carrier. We talked about it a few times and came up with this.

He built the bumper first, then did the carrier last weekend.

I asked him about making the quarter guards, but when we put a straight edge on the panels it's curved in both directions, plus I wanted it up past the first seam which meant a tight offset bend on the break, so I just ordered them from ORF.

You just going to leave the flares off? I keep thinking of getting some napier flares. If they didn't work out for you, I'd be interested in knowing why. Or who knows, maybe you want to sell them to me?

I like the look without them but I couldnt get away with it in Maine. I just haven't done it.yet, I've got to pull everything off, hurculine the quarters, paint everything, bolt ot back.together, which means pulling the oba and interior apart.
