Got the horns in and hooked up. They actually work. Fixed the hatch lock cyl too. Pulled it out, it was frozen in the tumblers and wouldn't turn. I wd40ed it good and tapped it with a rubber hammer on the sides a few times to get the tumblers unstuck while working the key. It started turning so I worked it back and forth while lubing it several times. Put it back in the hatch and it works like new now.

Started driving it on my normal drives today. Put some miles on it. I need to get used to it now. No real surprises, just things to keep in mind.

Blasted thing needs gas now.

i'm on my way to look at a 98 cherokee 2dr 2wd to drop my 383 stroker/700r4 onto......but after reading your whole thread and a cupla others doing similar swaps.....i dunno anymore. wow, what a bunch of toil and trouble. i'm 66 and don't know if i still have it in me. the money isn't a problem but the stamina is. mebby i'll just leave the 4.0 in it and torque it some. i just love the 2dr models, i get in and out so much easier than my 4dr explorer. we'll see. great build and you have my respect and admiration...yeah, i'm a little jealous.

If it were easy, everyone would do it. Part of the fun is making things work together that shouldn't, making things for the swap cuz I'm a cheapazz and sorting out the obvious. I've been driving this for the last several days. I wish it had 3:55 gearing though, it's spinning the engine a bit tight. Other than that, it goes down the road like I was figuring. Stood it on it's back bumper going up a steep hill by work. Climbed right up.
