Most likely a set of GM and a set of AMC. It came with 4 sets of keys so the odds of losing any are slim.
Going to do the SYE kit this week then everything should be ready for the swap.

Just got done installing the SYE in the S-10 231. The Jeep kit does in fact work with the Chevy case. Got my spare Jeep front output yoke in too, direct swap. That way I can still use the shaft I had built for the front.
I am doing the big push Wednesday, swap trans, t-case, upper control arms and a bunch of crap I'll remember when I get to it. Hopefully the spare front shaft I picked up from a friend will be the right length but if not, the driveshaft shop is down the road. If the front shaft is right, I'll put that in the rear and get the spare made to match the current front shaft. Wouldn't that be nice, one size shaft to do both ends?
We'll see what Wed brings.

Well, I got a lot done Wednesday.
1- Swapped the new trans and SYE equipped t-case in.
2- Got all the little things wrapped up. Cooler lines had to be reformed to fit the turbo 350 location.
Today I got the t-case shifter transfer bracket made, now it has support on the trans side. Linkage is adjusted and ready to go. The trans shifter linkage wasn't a problem.
The distributor rotor broke the tab when I was getting the converter bolted up, the firewall took it out when the engine was tipped back. I did have the cap loose.
Front driveshaft is in, the new rear shaft is now at the shaft stretcher and that will be in next week. The t-case is now full and a few quarts in the trans. When it's running the rest will go in.
On Friday's to-do list, finish the swap. Get the new upper control arms in and get the trans kickdown cable hooked up. I'll be able to at least lot drive this until the back shaft is in.
I'll get pics tomorrow.

Got pretty much everything done now. There will be a few loose ends but those will come later. Aside from the rear driveshaft, it's ready for a drive.
Looks like I'll still need a lift and some bump stop adjustments.

The bracketry I tossed together for the linkage for the t-case transfer rod. I'll rework it if needed.

The mandatory engine shots.

Can you believe I washed it?

The trans does shift between driving it on the lot and having it in the air filling the trans.
One small step for man, one big step for a jackass wrench turner.

Ah, Jackass wrench turner, this thing is awesome. I am afraid after pm you earlier I have slowly started to gather parts for this. Outstanding job.

Finally put the new driveshaft in the back. Yay.
Doing a look over, I found that the upper control arm was tapping the drivers downpipe so I have a new 4 1/2" lift coming and will get that on eventually. I'll also play with the bumpstops in front to limit compression and save the exhaust.
Here's the kit, and I'm paying nowhere near retail.

The lift is on. The front was a utter pain in the backside but it went together. I'm used to doing the front part of the lift in 3-4 hours. This took most of the day. This was Tuesday.
Today, Wednesday I did the rear springs, shackles and shocks. The rear was a trip on this one. Every bolt I figured on cutting out or fighting came right out. Upper shocks, front leaf spring bolts looked like they were put in a month ago instead of 25 years ago. Needless to say, I was ecstatic.
Got everything done, tight and greased then I aligned it. No big surprises there except all the adjusting sleeves turned easily, no fighting.
Then for the first time in probably 10 years, it went for a drive under it's own power. The new trans shifts nice and firm. There was a vibration in the front, I'm figuring the new driveshaft wasn't balanced right since it now turns all the time after I did a elcheapo mod to the diff and moved the collar for the two piece axle shaft and locked them together.
The gears are defiantly 4:10 because the engine was buzzing in 3rd at 60mph.
It drove good, steered right, didn't pull or wander and the new brakes worked well.
Thus far, I'm pleased.
Pics to come.

Not a lick, but I didn't go over much over bumps, just the main road. I did get it over 65mph going by the gps. The alignment is spot on too.
Jeff. I'm the monkey in the shop making magic.
