This is awesome. If you don't mind could you let me know what mounts your using? Headers and adapter to turbo 350 also? Your using the s -10 231 for the driver side drop I am assuming. I want to get a sbc, tranny and transfercase with out adapters if possible. Any info you could give me on this swap would be great, pm if you like. Thanks Mark

The mounts are a Advance Adapters kit for a CJ I snagged from work that I morphed and modded to put the engine where I wanted it. You can get mount kits from a couple places but those cost a kings ransom. I don't recall the part number for the headers, but they are Hedman's. If I had more money, I would've looked at Sanderson's, better exit location. As for any trans/t-case adapters, there are none aside from the factory adapter and the spacer from Advance to get the length right. Research it and ask questions. Saves wasting money and time.

This build looks outstanding! I have a '99 I've been playing with for the last 3 months. So much I want to do but my funding is bread crumbs. Just finished my '88 Chevy truck and the Jeep got my attention. I love what you're doing with this puppy! Keep it up!

Ok I have built lots of cars but never done transfercase swaps. Could you explain the spacer? where it goes? What it cost? I am guessing it makes up for the difference between the th350 and the 700?

I picked the SYE kit a month ago. I'll get to it once the DGAS (Don't give a $hit) attitude departs. Then I can swap the trans and get the new front arms in along with the t-case. I'm just piling up parts so I can do it all at one time.

Hopefully huge progress the first week of April. The boss is going south for the week so I get to snag the hoist again.

My plans are:
Swap the transmission.
Put the SYE kit in my spare 231 and install it.
Change the upper control arms to give me better exhaust clearance.
See if the front driveshaft I picked up will fit in the rear and if not, run it to the driveshaft shop down the road.
Wire the new speed sensor and run the harness. Speedo will be determined later. I'm debating on aftermarket and a mech conversion. The end pricing will be close.

I'll bring the camera and will hopefully have good things to show but if there is no good things, I'll fake it.

A few things I'm forgetting.

I'm not sure I want to know how much I sunk into this, but going off the top of my head and not looking at numbers, I'm guessing approx 2K at this point.

I was going to do the big push and get the rest of the list done but my back had other ideas. Almost a month ago my back went out badly and I wouldn't wish that kind of pain on anyone, but things are better now. I'm hoping to get this in and take care of it all soon. I get tired of whining about it.

The Jeep emblems were off when I got it so I put the bowtie sticker in it's place. I have GM keys along with AMC keys.
