Im up in the air on the t-case. I thought doubler, but for the cost I think Ill keep my eye out for a used atlas, duffy machine has a new doubler kit though too so we'll see.

Well today was counter productive. I took it down the road for the first time, drove great but I hadnt actually done the alignment. So I decided it was easy enough I would take care of it and maybe drive it tomorrow.
So I start to set the toe, and one of the rod ends siezes up, I try to turn it back, and nope, wont turn. So I put my 24" pipe wrench on it and stand on it, nope. So I put the floor jack under it and try to get the end out and nope.
This is what happened.

So I have another end coming. I messaged Dan at Ruff stuff too and asked him if he'd ever seen such a thing. He said to give him a call and they would replace it. Cant ask for more than that. So Ill call him tomorrow.
Since I had nothing else to do I decided to retrim the fenders again. The tires hit them still.

Thought about it, but I dont like the 300 flipped.
My buddy just did Duffys new doubler kit, its its own housing, you put your 231 planetary in, instead of having to cut and weld the original 231, and it leaves room for a double cardan. He used it with a dana 20. I like the setup because its a drivers drop case anyway, just have to put in shifters.
For the price for everything though, Im really gonna look for a used case first. Worst case, or if I can find a good deal on another case Ill do the doubler.
The only other thing I like with the doubler is being able to make it a 4 speed.
Depending on the cases, you can do a 4:1 kit in one case. So you can use stock 2.7:1, 4:1, or 10.8:1 low, and have a 1:1 high range.
We'll see. Im still up in the air and it wont be until probably the end of next year that I do it. Maybe earlier if I find some parts but probably not.
At that time Ill clock it all flat and build my new x member and make it flat bellied.

It's not welding warpage. They threaded all the way in with no problem. I had the heim out once too. Dam at ruffstuff said they will catch a metal shaving in the thread and once they do the thing is basically permanently attached.

I got my replacement heim for the tie rod, and a new heim to replace the bushing in the upper link. I got everything in and set the toe, although Im going to recheck it at work tomorrow on the lift with our toe gauge.
It drives pretty well down the road. Goes good with the 5.13's and rides decent. Id say that its stiffer with the bilsteins, but its a good ride. It used to be a bit softer though.
Brakes are AWESOME. It didnt stop like this off the assembly line. They are still breaking in, and getting better and better, but so far from a slow roll it locks the tires up at will. Might have to go to a durango master, if it gets a little better Ill be ok, but if not it needs a little bigger master.

I almost wish I ran the h2 wheels I was going to. Would have been an inch more backspace. But the hubs would have stuck out of the rim too.

Well today was a success. I will have plenty of pics to follow. Some GOOD ones too.
I hammered on it pretty good today. The last obstacle was a loose dirt/rock climb and up towards the top was a big off camber under cut rock next to a tree. I was in it pretty good and got up on the rock but it slid me over into the tree and broke my mirror, dented the fender and flattened out the A pillar a bit. Not too bad, only real casualty of the day.
The other is a leaking power steering line. No biggie there.
I definitely have to get my hydro assist done soon. Its not terrible, but it sure doesnt like to turn with the welded front. So thats next.
I can say though, everything works great. Front suspension is awesome. I love the detroit in the rear. Its silent on the street and locks right up.
So on the list now is,
raising upper shock mounts up front.
Hydro assist.
Moving shackle forward in the rear to get some more down travel
and a tractin bar. Gets pretty bad wheel hop/axle wrap. This was on my list of things anyway, but just worked its way up on it.
