XJ makeover, One tons and 40's.
Well Ive been doing quite a bit of work so I figured I would start a thread on it.
Long story short I started out with a 2000 jeep, with a 6.5" rustys short arm kit, 33" crushers, and death wobble like you wouldnt believe.
after some new control arm bushings we took it out.
heres how it sat when I got it home
and first time out with it
diddnt like the flares so it got to this

then I cut the bumper, removed all the stupid shock boots and stupid crap
wheeled like this for a while. now I started to pick up some more parts.
I was too dirty to take pics but I swapped the t-case with one that already had an advance adapters SYE kit.
I also picked up a used set of longarms at the same time
then yesterday I picked up my new wheels.
35" km2's on the same wheels I had.
I also picked up a broken Tom Woods driveshaft yesterday and spend my day rebuilding it with spare front shaft parts. I tried to run a stock front shaft. it worked but man it was scary short. This one is perfect, and much, much more beefy.
diddnt get pics of that yet.
so now, I have a HP dana 30 in the garage to replace my factory low pinion, thats waiting on a set of Nitro 4.88 gears that are on their way with matching 4.88's for the 8.25 rear that is already aussie locked.

got to work on the d30 today. Got it mostly stripped down, brakes off, axles pulled, carrier out, pinion out.
Now to clean everything up and start to reasemble once my gears show up
only took a couple pics because my hands were so dirty
I will get some good pics as I build it though. maybe a little walk through of regearing a d30 and 8.25

Looks good so far... while you're re-gearing that 30 you should brace that passengerside upper control arm mount, they fold easy!

Id like to do that and also reinforce the track bar mount. Dont have a welder at the moment though. thinking about picking up a harbor freight unit, or having someone weld it up for me. well see.

Yeah man, any time. I try to wheel as often as possible lol. I want to go saturday but Im thinking it might be a good day to do diff work. maybe Ill go in the morning then work on it later.
My plan is to build the front axle, have it all ready before I touch the rear, then once the rear is done, I can just swap out the front. gonna swap the longarms at the same time.
Ill get some good pics of doing the gear swap also. Only thing that scares me is getting the stupid c-clip out of the aussie.
