so here is a few pics of how I did the body mounts. I use 3/16" plate where the body mounts go and 3/16" x 2" strapping along the back under the rear bench, I was going to use the same strapping along the front. I used 3" jeep CJ body mount kit, and used bushings for the welded in rock sliders. the original idea was to make the body removable, that's why I have the welded in rock sliders mounted to the frame on bushings as well. after tubing the front I figured there is no point of making it removable so I tied the front tube work into the frame and body. anyways onto the pics.

hope that helps you with more ideas. if I was to do it again and make the body removable, one thing I would add is that where the unarails were cut off I would have left about 1/2" of it and weld in a 1/2"x 2" U-channel in its place for stiffening up the body for using body mounts if I was not going to use the weld in rocksliders.

I'm hoping to pickup some aluminum this week so I can finish off the hood panels, and side panels along the tube work for the engine bay, and start working on a fuel cell.

I've been following for a while too. Love this build. Keep updating as you can, life does get in the way of our builds.

Great work.

WOW man, this thing is looking sicker and sicker the further you go along. I never visualized the front end looking like that. Just awesome!

started work on the custom headers, did the collectors today, now need to do the rest of the headers and exhaust. 2" primaries into 2.5" dual exhaust. with the crane cam 200 I'm expecting 380hp at 5400 rpm and 400TQ at 4700 RPM. I'm not that good at TIG welding, so its all done with a MIG.

I got a question I'm planning to redo my whole jeep Over the next year or two not in year or to during next year or two, should I just restart with very clean jeep or build up mine again I have so much into my jeep but she's rotting and I keep patching her up but looking at yours makes me wonder what to do? I have a bond with my jeep may sound weird but I leaned everything I know by tinkering on it.. I want to build it up axles 3 link in front 4 link rear and chop but just not sure what todo about the shell
