I have started to weld in the rock sliders and bent up some tube, i'll have pictures soon. Wife being pregnant its been tough to get some time in the garage. since I've installed the 5.3 it looks like I will have to redo the front 4-link, drop the lowers a bit and raise the uppers. I just received the transmission to transfer case adapter so I can install that and see how the driveshaft will sit. Also bought a built D300 so that will need to be looked at with driveline angles.

well all I got done is welded in my rock sliders and adapted the NP231 to the 4L60E and tripple checked front link geometry with driveshaft in place to make sure all clears.

you should take measurements of everything you did, and either sell the plans or make a cut and weld kit and sell it....im serious, the work you have done is crazy, use your talents!!

Im using a millermatic 251, its a great mig, with an aluminum spool gun attachment. I would like to get a Tig one day, but thats an art on its own.

It would be too much work, and not enough interest for the time and money it would cost to do such a kit. I had a few guys locally ask me to do something similar and I had to turn them down. In reality a frame on an XJ is not really practical. The only reason I'm doing this is because I had a bad day, went into the garage to do some work (it calms me down)started plating the unirails, but instead got even more peed off and took the plasma to the unirail to steam off some frustration and ended up with a frame. If I was to do it again I would use dual tube frame as the extreme 4x4 did on their zuke build. Its lighter and easier to work with.

I can't see the pics on my phone I just skimmed through the thread. I'll actually read it (and see pics) later but from what I can tell its bad ***.

Amazing what comes from a day of frustration right?
