belly skid done. More of a temporary thing, planning on building something a little flatter and sturdier later, hopefully with an atlas behind in the spring

Hard to see as it’s getting cramped in there, but I modified a rubicon express track bar brace and got it in too, figured with the extra angle on the track bar bracket to get a longer track bar, a brace was in order. That and the added stress of the hydro assist...
Still have a boostwerks steering box brace to put in too but I’ll get to that later.

Looking good man!
Do you drive it on the road?
If so, how is the 3 link do on the road?

Is your rear shock set up a kit, or did you build it yourself?

I am also hoping to put an Atlas in mine next year.

Thanks for the updates and pictures.

It’s not a daily driver if that’s what you mean, but I do drive it on the road from time to time, and between trails. It drives just the same as it did with any of the radius arm setups I’ve run in the past.
Rear shock setup is just a bunch of stuff I threw together. Though part of the hoops were trail gear hoops I got from 4 wheel parts a long time ago, but I had to cut them up quite a bit. Then ruff stuff u bolt plates, that’s about it. Pretty simple really

Got the bridge welded in, I’ll paint it at some point, just about ready to roll

Thanks for the information. Looking to go 3 link at some point in the future with mine.

In love with your rear shock set-up. VERY clean looking and functional.
I'll have to borrow some of your pictures for ideas when and if I get to that point with mine.
thanks for sharing!

No problem. Seeing your rig, I think ultimately the 3 link would suit you better in the long run. I wouldn’t sweat it if you don’t have any issues, but also don’t sweat drivability or anything like that!

And thank you, I copied the through the floor/hoop thing from other builds I’ve followed, but I’m digging it! I really like having it sealed up and keeping the carpet and all that. Haven’t wheeled it yet since I added the bridge, but just driving on the street it seemed quieter oddly enough, so I’m sure that will help immensely in the long term. I noticed some clunking in the front end and realized the ball joints are toast... so now I’m doing ball joints (spicers) which sucks, but I had to tear most of the front apart to slide in the Yukon chromo’s ive been sitting on so whatever, at least the front end will be fresh and solid

The whole having it sealed up and still being able to see the tubing is what is appealing to me. I've seen some setups where they build a box around the setup and you can't see any of it, or they don't seal it.
I've got a nice interior and plan to keep it that way, so this setup would be perfect for what I am wanting.

Those pesky ball joints!!! Have fun with that.

So after finding the lose ball joints, i finally rounded up some new spicers, and out with the old and in with the new.
I had also ordered a set of Yukon 4340 shafts for the front so figured I’d do this all in one shot.....
....... wrong!
I was told the high pinion ford housing was narrowed to wagoneer width, so I ordered wagoneer shafts. Long side was about 1/2” too long (no biggie I was able to cut it down) but the short side was actually a TJ rubicon 44..... yay

Got the rubicon short/inner today and got the shafts in. Should have bought a ball joint press a long time ago! It’s come in handy!!

Then while rotating the tires on the tow rig, I found a shot unit bearing.... Probably an inch of play, can’t believe I couldn’t hear it. Seems like front end work is my thing lately

So I’ve wanted truck lite led headlights for quite some time, I bought some a while back and can’t find the damn things.... I know I still have them but I’ve got so much stuff scattered all over I just have to dig them up.
Anyways, while rounding up some stuff for my brothers Jeep, I stumbled on these. $98, look just like the truck lites (I don’t care for the look of most of the led headlights) and actually had stellar reviews on amazon. So I added a set to the order to try them out.
They were packaged really well, look to be really good quality, and they’re pretty heavy. I can already tell the lens isn’t the toughest, and is probably gonna scratch relatively easily but time will tell. Just thought I’d throw it out there in case anyone else is interested

Finally got the Jeep out for the thanksgiving weekend! Went to a local spot with a wide variety of trails. It was a rainy mess Friday but Saturday and Sunday were dry, though it was a slop fest in general...
jeep did great. No breakage, and the only issue I really had is the *** is too low. I made the mistake of using the ‘no lift’ shackle relocation brackets. Only regret I have on this build. With what I’m running it’s been an issue no matter what spring/shackle combo and I’ve ran several. I don’t want a super arched leaf pack cause the travel and ride is amazing, it’s just sitting too low and my brand new kevlars were getting munched by the fenders. Simple fix though really, just build a shackle relocation similar to the rough country one and weld it into my current shackle box and that will gain the couple inches I need and still give me some adjustment down the road.

Only other quirk was my front driveline still just kisses the upper link at full stuff, because of the clocking I did on this tera case... not bad, just barely scraped the paint, but I have a plan for that too. Been planning on an atlas for a while now, so I’m thinking that come tax time I’ll be ordering up a 4 speed. Most of the guys I wheel with already run them and the front dig and multiple gear options are making me jealous!

Ended up being a great weekend, once these tires get broke in and I get the pressure dialed in it’s gonna be amazing! Felt great to finally get it out and put it to work. I never even pulled my phone out so only got a few pics from my girlfriend but there will be more to come.

Well these are your next purchase then... BWE Comp Shackles

The jeep is looking good man!

I want another Atlas also. I had one in my TJ and loved it.

Thank you, i appreciate the compliment!
Already ran them, and I won’t say anything other than I sold them.
Im a big fan of all of his stuff, but those just didn’t work for me. Great product, but just didn’t fit my application well. Also my Cherokee is pretty twisted up so that could have been a big part of it. I have amazing travel, rides incredible, the shackle itself is just in the wrong spot. Like I said though it’s a pretty simple fix, and I’m just not ready to link the rear, not yet anyway.
