I know how **** some people are about using DOM. its not necessary in some places. know a few people who have a whole cage out of erw and don't have any problems with rollovers or what not. glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks a 100% DOM cage is over kill

Dude I know how that is! I mean really ERW is suffice in some places. I don't trust it 100% over my head though which is why I'll use DOM there. But for a part where it's mainly looks and bracing then yeah it's plenty.

More pipe going into place. Don't worry there is still more to come, and some trimming/capping, final welds, and paint.

I moved it because when I go to a 4 link rear suspension I would also move the axle back almost a foot. So I would have to relocate it to do the mounts and stuff. I was planning to start that right after this, but that isn't happening...so I am moving the tank back, and running the filler nozzle another way.

Dude thank you. I have gotten so much crap from local people on this build. I think it's just so different, and big it scares them lol.

One question, why not just drop a few hundred on a fuel cell that sits lower and squarer (is that a word?) on your bed? Love the build!!!

I didn't feel like buying one yet. Turns out I have the stuff at the shop to make an aluminum one, so I might make one. I plan to get a fuel cell of some sort asap cause my gas tank can't stay there.

Thanks for the compliment!

Only the xbrace left to make, finish up all the welds (some are only tacked), touch up with grinder, buff it, and paint it. Plan to bust a$$ and get done tomorrow.

The tank spout(?) looks like an exhaust stack.

Where did the gas tank go?! Back under the jeep lol. Got alot done this morning. Gas tank is back under the jeep as opposed to up top, rest of cage got cut and tacked together, cage pulled from jeep to finish all the welds.

After lunch I should be finishing the welds, some grinding, bolting and welding it to the jeep, then paint it.

Gotta finish the jeeps body work too.
