Hey man, where are you from in Okla.? I live off of S.E. 59th St. and Choctaw Rd., we may have to get together and compare notes as I have a 1984 2 Dr Cherokee with 383 vortec in it. These guys that are satisfyed with a 6 cyl. just don't understand what W.F.O. means, do they? When I stand on the go pedal I want to hear the roar of 450 H/P out the 3" flowmaster exhaust, just the old hot-rodder in me I guess. Chevokeeman.

i ride in a straight 6.....and i know what WFO mean......of course its Western Field Ornithologists right?

in all seriousness though, i'd rather gear down that hp up, but to each his own. although i do like the sound of hot rods, don't like the fuel consumption.

Today I finished fabbing up a steering box mount. Once I got it mounted I realized the steering shaft was going to hit the header so I had to shim the front bolts to get the 1/8" clearance. It looks like it will work now.
Next I welded my tie rod ends to the 1 1/2" DOM tie rod. Welded the drag link tabs and painted it. I may still come back and redo the tie rod with heim joints later but I had the tie rods already and two heims with inserts are a $100.00 bill.

Today I welded up the drag link. It's 1 1/2" X 1/4" DOM. Welded in the inserts and added the heim joints.

After that I worked on relocating the powersteering pump because its to low and the belt will rub the steering box in the current location.
Looks like I will have to fab up my own bracket.

The snow is melting fast. The canadian river runs right behind the shop and while I was working on the jeep today two guys walked up from the river. They had a Toyota sunk in the river and about to turn over in the water. I walked down there and they had a strap tied on the front going to a tree to keep it from taking a full bath in icy water. lol There was a guy with an old chvy pu trying to pull him out but the thing sounded like it was running on 4 of th 8 cyl's. I went back to the shop and grabbed a comalong for them and fired up the HD2500 2wd. Backed it down to them and tug boated that toy out sideways. haha Thought I was going to pull the front end off that thing. Not one of them had lockers or mud tires. Did get a 12 pack of beer my flavor out of it though.

Best part is that two hours after I got them out the came back up to inform me they were stuck in the same place going the other direction. The Toy is spending the night there. I couldnt get them out this time. 0

junk that couldnt budge him.

Ok, so there comes a time in every build when you stand back and take a good look at what direction your Jeep has taken. Then you scratch your head and wonder how you F'ed it up so bad. Thats when you lock up the shop and go drink a few beers. Then you get on CF and search through 100's of threads just looking for insporation. All at once it hits you like a fat girl that just had her cake taken away. I'll chop it all up and drop it down, YEA thats the ticket. So thats what I'm doing. What do ya think?

My hope is to end up with something like this.

I am going through the same thing... So what I told myself to do is finish and if I don't like it I can sell and start over... And your rig is way better than mine... Thats just me though... Just sort down and figure out what you might want to do... I might want to but your rig and finish it...
