almost looks like if you were to chop the factory unibody rails out, the XJ body would sit right down on the Scout frame with little to no notching of the floorpan...

I don't want to do that because the uniframe keeps the floorpan from cracking under stress.

true, but it would look better if it were lower on the frame...

looks good the way it is though.

I wish I could lower it just a bit but then I would have to cut the body more than I want to. The Boggers are to wide to set it down anymore.

Just add some strips of black rubber to close in the gap. They em for Chevy trucks with body lifts

Worked on the sliders and body mounts tonight.
2" DOM tied to unibody with 3/16" plating. Then I built custom body mounts.

More to come soon.

I think I like the exposed frames. This looks to me like this is being build for abuse, not to take a date to prom. The cleanest way to build it, in my opinion, is to let the work stand for itself. If it is done right he won't need to explain anything.

The body is tied into the frame at 8 differant locations. The sliders are attached to the unibody frame and also the body mounts. It will hold just fine.

Tonight I got the rest of the body mounts done. The sliders are on but need to be finished. I plan on cutting the ends at a 45deg ang and capping the end. Also going to bend up some 1 1/2 dom to come out and up from there.

Now I'm going to start making room for the headers and steering shaft.

After that it's time to get a cage in this thing.
