Update: The Slut Bus-image-3907905758.jpg The Slut Bus-image-29592726.jpg Just replaced the rear shocks. I found out my welds were poop because I was low on argon gas and my wire feed + power were too low. (2nd time welding ever so still learning.) Having my pro welding buddy weld my blocks. Should have done in a few days. Thanks for the feedback guys. I know it's not a nice build but like I said it's my first time with minimal help.

Do what you will with your XJ, to each their own, what's the difference in what you are doing verse someone building a rock crawler or baja machine. I think it is a shame to see someone put crazy lift, big tires, etc... And run open diffs...but you will not hear me provide parental guidance in their build as so the reason someone shouldn't flame you and your build. If they are so concerned they should open a XJ museum and buy them all up Or even better they should buy yours.

Do what you will....

Haha wow, what a wreck you've made of that thing... I'm in the middle of building my first jeep. I started with a junker, and am hoping to finish with something half decent.

I believe I will post my thread as the "classy broad" build lol

Ha, I have built to destroy, hell I've been in a few crash up derbies, I run Baja and a few other events, but I also have a large collection of classic motorcycles and vehicles with a few on display out here in Vegas. You know how many people say its a disgrace that I don't drive or ride them. To each their own...who am I to judge what someone else considers fun as long it isn't at my expense...but post videos and pictures...

I'm building a 97 Cherokee now

My last build....almost finished..

God son finished it for me...

next one

playing in the rocks the day after paint..

finished

new project....arrived yesterday...

At the end of the day its about what I plan to do with them and what I like...

Same goes with your XJ...beat the **** out of it and tell us how fun it was...because many of us would like to do the same..If I lived near you I would have you bring it to the shop and we would do a full exterior cage and go roll it

Plus I like the name **** bus...bang it, abuse it, do what ever you want but dont take it home to momma

Sir i greatly appreciate your open mindedness. You are what makes the cherokeeforum community a nice website. I will post videos hopefully in the next couple weeks on what i do with my cherokee. And if you lived in florida that could be a possibility haha.

Hell...I cant wait to see...when I was in high school we took a 74 green fake wood paneled station wagon, cut the top off, built a picnic table for the back and a kegerator and it was the coolest car at school, atleast we thought so..

later we built a roll cage for it and dropped a 454 under the hood with 5.88 gears, it wouldnt run too fast, but it was very quick off the line and we laid many a mile of rubber on the pavement.

Im sure someone would say I cant beleive you cut up a perfectly good big block station wagon and ruined it...ha...I wouldnt trade those days and memories for a new Vette... because we did it the way we wanted and you are doing the same. Live life!

thread cleaned up - lets not bash other people for their builds, even if we may not agree with their course of action.

Unless it's safety related, then by all means let the OP know.

Yes sorry that took a bad turn. Moving on haha. Finished the lift on Thursday. Had to settle for 4" lift in the rear instead of 4.5" due to the square tubing blocks I made getting squished. I bought wedged blocks from a local 4x4 shop which I should have done in the beginning. I did not have to lengthen the drive shaft nor lengthen the brake lines. Took her out wheeling a few nights over the weekend and it has worked flawlessly. Bump stops barely rub the coil springs and the tight suspension works perfect for trailing. I can go up to 30 mph on tight trails and still have a smooth ride. This was before the rear lift. The Slut Bus-image-2490611678.jpg After The Slut Bus-image-791454805.jpg I took a pic of the coil springs to show they were bowing but like I said, minimal contact between bump stops and coil springs when riding. The Slut Bus-image-682546867.jpg I just eyeballed my adjustments with the control arms and so far it works well. This jeep does not see more than a mile worth of public roads so I'm not a danger to anyone haha. It drives straight for a good 75 yards when letting go of the wheel before it will begin to merge to the middle of the road. Next I'm looking at an intake snorkel and cut fenders. Haha and a good wash with a pressure washer.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm having a blast learning on this.
