Well... The countdown begins.
Long dryspell, as I was in boot, and then still early in my training after boot but my sweet love is finally going to come back to me... Sept 14th cant come soon enough.
So while I was away my family used my Jeep for various things... I liked it. Didnt really sit well with me if it wasnt going to be run atall.
My family took it camping and It worked pretty well

Then... while camping somehow the electric fan imploded. Shattered into peices.
And my brake pads/ rotors were horrible. Needed new rotors.
So not too bad... Not really a big deal. My dad fixed and paid for the repairs. I was really appreciative. As in reality my car, my problems, my financial burden. All's well.
I was finally allowed to drive a vehicle. I had about 400 in cash to give my sister for her to drive it down, spend the weekend, and fly back. I was really happy.
Unfortunately within a week of August 25th the dateId be reunited with my beauty, significant noises were coming from my differential.
My Dad is busy and differential oil smells like ****, so he takes it to our local mechanic.
Bad news.
My differential bearings are toast. (Im not really that mechanically inclined. I can turn a wrench and fill some fluid, but Im not that learn-ed.)
Anyways its going to cost me.... grand total of repair $800
Well never been changed, old part fixed with new prt, problem fixed. Not exactly.
Mechanic believes that my lift kit, and with its steeper angles, caused the destruction.
So my options are remove my lift kit and go back to boring land or my wallet lightening solution. SYE and New driveshaft. Not really a decision I thought real hard on.
So after my ride gets here I will be most likely buying:
JB conversions SYE
Tom woods drive shaft
And for added bank drainage
31" Goodyear Wrangler duratracs.
Maybe even some used ravines.
For a grand total of... more than my paycheck. Hooray!
Anyone know approximate pricing on Tom woods drive shafts? Their website is pretty vague.
So near future:
New AC condenser (previously bought)
JB SYE
Tom Woods drive shaft
31" Duratracs
And maybe some wheels if I dont blow too much money.
Thats all for now...

Hey man. When I did my 3" RC leaf pack lift, I bought my shackles (stock height) through quadratec. If I remember correctly they were around $50 or so for a set. I'd check there. I looked everywhere else besides the dealer and quadratec was the only place with non-lifted shackles

If I'm not mistaken you can use something like a front DS out of a cherokee with an Auto tranny.. Depending on your lift. Might be a cheaper route, PLUS if your running the same DS front and rear, thats a win win in my books lol
