Was seriously thinking of keeping it but there were just to many rust issues with it.
I've noticed that "rust proofed cars" rust WAY worse in the spots the rust proofing doesn't get to.
Well I got some interior parts (Leather heated seats and overhead console) and a front HP D30 to put my 4:11s in.
I have sold a few parts off it. Some more are going soon. Got a drive train to tear apart and rebuild over next winter. Going for a stroker and beef up the AW4 with supra parts. I like the 242 transfer case. Going with the wider chain and some other build up tricks. I'm not a hard core rock climber or mud runner so I should be good.
If I sell the doors and hood which are RUST free, I'll break even and still have what I wanted.

Changed the name of my Build.
I'm a real big James Bond fan and my friend called it a money pit.
Miss Moneypenny...Miss Moneypit. Get it?

I honestly think my XJ might be as rusty lol...I have a hole on my rocker and between the doors on both sides, it's rusted pretty bad. I'm stripping it all and fixing it though this summer. Can't wait for that, and rust-proofing everything underneath that I can.
I love James Bond! Nice lol, I named mine Chioba (Cherokee Has it's Own Bank Account) haha

Well at the moment it's going slow. I have gotten all the parts to finish my rear axle. I'm just in the process of cleaning it up and painting it.
I know I could have just thrown all the parts on and called it a day but I'm a bit **** about some things. I f'n hate working on brakes that are rusty.
So all the backing plates and parts are getting a high temp paint job.
I'd just about kill right now for a 80 gal compressor so I could sand blast this stuff! I'll have pictures of where I'm at later today.

Well I didn't have to kill anyone this weekend!!
Found this little gem around the corner from me.

It's actually 3 years older than me. Made in 1954 when they made stuff to LAST!
It's a 60 gal tank and I got it for $160. Runs well. Takes a bit of time to reach 150 psi. Will see about getting new rings and reeds for it.
And this is how much bigger my new spring perches are over stock. Getting a 3/4" lift for free.

Axle is painted up. Now just have to finish backing plate and caliper mounts. Then in she goes!!

Out with the old

In with the new

Had somehow lost these photos and found them today. I did this a couple of months ago. Thought I'd post this up today.
This is my 8.25 4:10 Eaton Detroit LSD geared rear with KJ Disc brakes.
I also welded on new anti wrap spring perches at 4° and moved the shock mounts to the axle.

Fixed the rust spots and rubberized stone guard. What do you think?
I have gloss black flares and my buddy says I should put them on so the flare matches the rubber guard.
