TheRealKTrain's Build. Matilda. Slow n Steady
Hey Guys,
Lemme give you a bit of my history really quick:
Started off with a 1976 CJ-5 with the 304 and 3 speed
Sold it to buy my next Jeep
1997 TJ Sport 4.0L w/ Dana 44
Sold that before my cross country move to Texas.
2000 TJ Sport, 4.0L w/ Dana 44
Against all better judgement, I traded that for my next CAR
2002 Subaru WRX Wagon
Hated driving the WRX in traffic, so I sold it
Brings me to this...
1998 Cherokee SE 2dr 2wd 4.0L

Sold the CJ for creature comforts like a radio, power steering, power brakes, a top that doesnt leak, transfer case instead of locking hubs... etc.
Also, 1976 was the Bastard year, it had half of its parts were 1975 stuff and the other ended up being 1977 stuff. It was the transition year to the AMC 20 axle, etc.
Thanks for the welcome!

Good call on the full leaf packs. Never go with the AAL pack unless you are on a really, and I mean really tight budget. XJ looks clean.

It will be a lot cleaner when I do the 4x4 swap here in a year or two. Until then I'll watch craigslist for deals on xfer cases and whatnot. Rock ridge 4wd game me a good deal on the kit, JKS track bar, free nitro shocks and free shipping. It was hard to pass up.

Rockridge emailed saying the JKS track bar was on back order. Subbed for the Rubicon Express so I can get my lift in ASAP.
UPS tracking says Tuesday, looks like an early B-day for me!!!

While waiting on my lift I figured I would fix my radiator leak...
Turns out it was the return hose to the overflow tank
Can anyone verify if this return hose routing is correct? Looks goofy to me

Removed all the flares last night, and prepped for paint. I plan on putting 1-2 coats on them tonight. I bought all new hardware to modify the current flare retention strips and make them much easier to install and remove.
Also ordered an instrument cluster with guages to replace my idiot cluster.

Lift arrived the 30th, began installation last night after the kid went to bed.
Finished the passenger rear.
Not too sure about the centering bolt... Never flushed up on the spring perch...
