Yeah, don't think the Labor day deadline is gonna hit.

Had to take my niece to the hospital yesterday...food poisoning. Stayed with her the whole time as everyone else is out of town ATM. No big, she's more important.

Did get some stuff done this morning. All that's left out back is to install gas tank/bumper/skid plate. I'll be making some new nutstrips, and painting the rear bumper. Gonna try to get that done during the week.

Brakes flushed/bled (NASTY, took a long time to get clear fluid), all bolts torqued to spec, and new Bilsteins are in!

Shiny! Lol. Glad everyone is doing better! Interested to see how the initial alignment on the 3 link turns out.

Needed new nutstrips to get the rear bumper/hitch/skid mounted...so instead of ordering them, I decided to make some.

Roni's Rogue4x4 Build...finally!-20160826_204152.jpg

Made from 1/8" flat stock, trimmed to dimensions with a plasma cutter, made the bends, drilled the holes, and beefed up the hardware with 1/2" grade 8 nuts/bolts.

Gonna get the fuel tank, bumper/hitch/skid painted and installed today. Then I'll look into getting the sliders put back in. Then I'll move to the front end. Hope to get a lot done this weekend...

What did you use to make those bends? Very nice.

Edit. Typed before coffee.

Blacksmithed it.

For the rectangular bend, I welded a properly sized piece to the welding table, tacked the strip down as well, butted up against the "anvil", heated with a torch, hammered into shape with a sledge and chisel...same for the round bend, just with a piece of round stock.

Very nice. I made some hammered hanging flower pot holders that way a long time ago out of 5/16" square stock. My parents still use them to this day. You can't buy that kind of decent stuff in stores anymore, all too flimsy. Makes me want to buy an acetylene torch and anvil...don't tell my wife!

Got up early. Got the armor laid out on the driveway, broke out the pressure washer and a bucket of purple power, cleaned it all up...

What'd you go with for bed liner? Duplicolor?

Dude. Sweet.

Looks like you'll still be able to use the hitch receiver, just barely?

And I thought you swore off stickers. Lol

Hitch receiver is totally useable. When I built my bumper, I used the hitch as the base. It is stout. Have used it several times.

Yeah...after they made me put the spectator stickers on at the Hammers, it was all downhill from there, LOL

Nothing a razor blade can't fix...
