Got some work done today, not as much as I would have liked, but some solid progress. Got the steering, trackbar, suspension, control arms and axle dropped. About ready to start prepping the metal...really want to get those stiffeners on, and get the 3 link in...after the mids and front go in, it's gonna start moving quickly. I really miss my wheels!

Some pics of the day's fun...

Also here's a little something something I've been wanting to do for a few years...

LOL

I can't tell you how good it feels to be rid of that straight junk. They were a nightmare right out of the box. I had forgotten, but the hardware they sent with it was a complete joke, hard to install, and to remove...they put these stupid tabs on them, to "help" keep them on, I guess, but when taking them off, I remembered how much of a PITA it was to install, too...you cant put a wrench on them, I had to get a pair of vice grips on them to remove...so to all you RC lovers, you can have it. Ridiculous.

Started to rain, so I called it a day...more to come tomorrow...

Don't worry, they pegged me on it too. I had chocks behind the tires and my driveway is at a slant... didn't even cross my mind that it would be a good idea to chock the front of the tire too just to be safe.

Both wheels will get chocks in front and behind in the rear...once the weather improves a bit. Cold and rainy here today. Supposed to clear up a bit later. Going to start prepping the metal for the stiffeners, cut off brackets, and such. Also remembered when I got my 3 link, the only thing not included were the crush sleeves for the control arm mount points. So gotta source that this week.

LMAO...thanks

Also posted this in WDYDTYCT, but I started removing the lower control arm mounts, as they need to go before the stiffeners go in, due to the 3 link. Yeah, that sucked, only got through half the spot welds on one side. Using a regular drill bit. Picking up a spot weld removal bit tomorrow. Also gonna source the DOM I need for the crush sleeves for the 3 link. Should be finishing prep and burning in the mids next weekend. No pics today, sorry guys...what happened today really didn't warrant pics. Did get the trans jack under the tranny, and the crossmember out, though as well.

And yes, the wheels got "chocked"...rocks FTW

Rocks are also awesome lol

Are you trying to save the stock LCA mounts or something? Grind that crap off!

I have one of the spot weld bits, never got around to using it, though. (bought it and lost it in the damn shed LMAO!) It looks like a tiny hole saw but the pilot part retracts.

Not trying to save them...like I said, I want a nice, tight fit. Yes, I'm ****. Blame a 25 year career in aerospace for that. LMFAO

Really just an excuse to buy a new tool I guess...haha! I figure if I'm in there, do it the right way. I'll be happier in the long run.

That's a bit more personal than I expected.

How would grinding that off result in a not-tight fit?

Got 2. Because HF, LOL...$4.99 each, and the cutting bit is reversible. So it's like having 4...right? Haha...

Let us know how they work, man. I was thinking about picking up one or two of these for mine for the rear floor when I do it.
