96xjclassic helped me out a bit after work today. It was nice and warm, so we installed my new CPS. That didn't fix my misfire+backfire issue, but it helped a lot. We then tested my MAP sensor, which had apparently decided not to be a MAP sensor anymore. Replaced that, too. It seemed to help smooth out my idle a little more. In the end, I'm still misfiring and backfiring, but not as much. Now I'm on the hunt for new injectors, and I'll replace my 6 month old O2 sensor if injectors don't fix it.
While we were doing all that, Classic noticed something in the engine bay. The PO never mentioned that he included a screwdriver in the price of the truck

On a very positive note, I also got some shiny metal from Iron Rock today:

EDIT (31Jan13): I ordered a set of 703s today and bought a new fuel filter. I'll update once they're installed.

The project:
0-6.5" IRO adjustable LCAs
Front Rusty's shocks (thanks 96xjclassic)
New fuel filter

Old shocks out. 1987 was a long time ago:

Old control arms. They didn't like rocks:

Passenger side was easy:

Then came a new tourist attraction: Lake Brake

Replaced the factory fuel filter while I pondered:

Got the driver side in with ratchet straps and a lot of prying:

Found a solution for the leaking rear hard line:

And I'm less than enthusiastic about my 13 hour ordeal. Gotta wake up in four hours for work to do a 12hr shift, and I still have to shower.

A thousand thanks to my89xj for giving me a warm shop in which to work, tools to help me out, and a second set of hands before and after he had to go to work today.
I got home to find my 703s in the mailbox. Thank you, Programbo, but they're gonna have to wait for another day.
