I think it's like a bull bar, but rather than attaching to an existing bumper, its part of the bumper. Good for bringing vengence to Goldilocks!

There are two for the rear mj. Nates has one ready made (not my fave) and then there is another diy bumper from someone else (my fave but its diy)

Sc, that panel is from Dirtbound Offroad. I had a good experience with them, and I would order again.

Justin, you make it sound like I have the skill or means to build my own. Bumpers are high on the list after I get it running right, but that's my priority. Thanks for that link, though. Will save Oliver a headache.

Jeepy, I'm having them custom built. Nobody makes a Comanche bumper that wraps around underneath for a rear quarter cut. By the way, that DIY is from JCR.

No problem, bud. Your first post was in my thread. The least I can do is answer it

As for the truck, no real progress. I'm working all weekend, so there's no time or daylight for auto work. Stopped for dinner on the way home, and I had a crazy high idle (I'd guess 2k-2500 RPM) when I started her up. Happened thrice in a row. Checked vacuum lines: All good. Nudged my C101 connector ('87/88 guys know what I'm talking about), and my idle dropped to the lowest and smoothest it's ever been (but still backfiring).

Guess it's time to remove the connector and hard-wire everything. Not looking forward to that undertaking...

Upcoming goals:
Diagnose and fix backfiring issue
Bypass brake proportioning valve (broken; currently 0% power to rear brakes)
Finish and install trussed D44
Replace the original windshield (several chips)
Bypass C101 connector
Fluid changes
Gauge swap

Maybe:
Motor mounts/transmission mount
Cowl snorkel

I'm using my tax return for maintenance on both vehicles.

Well not to keep bogging down clowns thread but, they did a DIY 3 link system for the manche. Relocated for over the knuckle trac bar, redid shock mounts and that is where they complained about clearance. Teu wanted 5" of up and 5" of down travel. If you can google the episode you'll see

Rerun

Just got home from work. Up travel is a dirty word around me. LCOG, all about the down travel.

Now I haven't made any decisions yet, but I was looking through XJ and MJ build threads today on JF and Pirate...and I'm CONSIDERING (not decided on) some heavier body mods than initially planned. Mostly it'll come down to cost.

Nice. And about travel, down travel is better specially with larger tires there's virtually minimal up travel.
