Well to show that I have my priorities in order, I just spent some money on Amazon. External speaker for my CB, MTX Thunderdome 6.5s for the soundbar I'll soon be installing (thanks, kuzican), and new Monroe Sensa-Tracs for the rear since my original shocks haven't dampened anything in 15 years. I'm planning to buy Bilstein 5100s all the way around when I lift, but I need shocks for when I pick up the bike. Mine don't even have bushings anymore, and I got the pair of Sensa-Tracs for $60.

Yay!

no problem. I'm curious as to how you plan on finishing the soundbar. I have one that I'm going to sand down. I want to give it a different texture though. I'm not sure what to do with it exactly.

I haven't picked it up yet cause I was trying not to put extra miles on the XJ. As for finishing, I'll probably just sand and rattlecan it. I'm more curious about how I'll mount it since I don't have a headliner. Probably gonna use scrap metal to make brackets, and run a support across the top side of it.

Just screw it in place like aaron's light bar. No big deal. Itll never come off...just stay away from speed bumps.

Oh yeah, I guess it is that simple. I didn't want to install speakers in it, anyway

you don't have the trim on the side that would normally hold one in place? well in the back of an XJ anyway. just make sure you support it in the middle somehow so it doesn't break.

I don't have the back of a Cherokee. As I said, though, I'm gonna run a metal or wood brace across the length of the bar on the top side.

Just went through some of your build thread. You've had your MJ for a little over a year now... Man time flies.

Yes, sirs, and in that time I've managed to remove skid plates, replace a gas tank, put good wheels and tires on it, break an axle, cause my engine to run poorly, and not lift it. I'm actually a bit frustrated with this milestone

Well, when you put it like THAT!! see, the way i see it, you had a tailgate bedlined, installed a CB and switch panel, did a front axle upgrade, did doorless mod and followed Dukie (and others) through some rather rugged looking trails a few times in a stock MJ!

But i hear ya, sometimes it SUCKS being a "gearhead....i HATE that i love cars sometimes....

I like your summary better. New gas tank, H4 headlights, cooling upgrade, D44 getting built, and I have big plans for when I get the money.

Just not happy with how little has been done in a year's time.
