sced 40 is plenty strong, DOM is too expensive for a rock crawler , and next build is going to be all long arm , four link all around total offroad only rig

and i disagree, DOM is perfect for rock crawlers. which is why 90% of them run DOM cages.
at $100 a stick, its worth the extra security.
or if you brace enough, then even .120 HREW would be OK. and thats only about $40 for a 20' stick
and if you choose to stick with pipe, then you need to add MUCH much more pipe with a solid interior bracing system

im not saying its not for them , if it was cheaper id definitley get DOM ,but my cage was far from finished and the rear was only attatched to my bumper and not the frame or anywhere secure, didnt get that far wanted to play before i finished and the tubes themselves had no creases and the most of the shifting was from rear bumper being bent down

the exo impressed me and I been looking at an all tube buggy for my next build , ive seen a few on CL , but if i get another xj its probably just gonna have an exo, dont see the point in doing both innner and outer, im not going fast and its gonna just be a toy so i wont care about damage too much next time

without the interior bracing the cage will just buckle side to side and will shift around like it did.
