98 zj for 300 bucks build on a budget
i just got this 98 zj for 300 bucks its fully loaded except that its gona need a motor witch isnt a big deal considering what i have invested in it. My plans for the jeep is to make a dd out of it but yet also have a capable trail rig also not got anything realy pland out yet want to get it running first. I just wanted to go on and get my build thread started and add as i got heres a pic as it sits now let me know what yall think and give your opinions on what yall would like to see on it this is my first zj build

It's just a couple bolts and a engine hoist. 5.2 is your problem. 4.0s are a dime a dozen.

ive had the 4.0 out of my 89 100 times lol got a spare for it sittin in the garage dont know how hard itll be to find a 4.0 for this 98 tho so it might turn into a big deal lol. Ive never realy been a fan of them either but heck if i can get it all together and runnin for under a grand i could get used to it. still wont compare to my xj the booger

i found a motor with 180,000 on it that still runs for 350 i just gota pull it kinda undesided tho on getting it or just pullin the one i got and rebuilding it what yall think ?

i would say get the one you found and rebuild it. at least you know it runs and there is a better chance you wont have to deal with a warped or cracked head. plus later you could dive into the one you have now and rebuild it and keep it as a spare or sell it.
