Default PROJECT: Zombie Response Vehicle

Well im finally the proud owner of a 1997 Cherokee Country, 4.0, Auto, 4x4! It has 225k on the ticker and needs an o2 sensor but runs beautifully! Paid $900 for it... yes... $900!!! I have to wait until Wednesday to pick it up because thats when i will have access to a trailer... The tag is bad on it and the taillights dont work (but i got them to come on for a second last night by poking the headlight switch, so id rather not drive it 40 miles to my house from the previous owners house...

Immediate plans are a 3'' lift and 32's, and fixing all small bugs before the trip that we have planned to WITC the end of March... The goal is to have a retro looking, bare bones, Zombie attack truck which should be alot of fun for my little boy and his momma

I will be taking lots of pictures and doing write-ups as often as i can... This is my first Jeep build so it will be a great learning experience that i would like to share as much as possible!

Thanks for looking and check back for updates!!!

Got it home late Wednesday night so no work on it right away... more like a few beers and some sittin on the porch looking at it!

Yesterday i had a coulpe hours of alone time with it though, and she started to show her ugly side quite a bit...

You can see from the pictures that she has some rust... Ok, alot of rust. But im trying to convince myself that $900 was still a good deal. On the up side though the interior is in fantastic shape! A few small rips in the drivers set on the door side but its not even ripped all the way through yet...

The downstream o2 sensor has duct tape around the plug connection so im sure thats got to be part of the engine light issue. I am planning on doing a CKP sensor at the same time as the o2 sensors.

The only things that really took place yesterday besides a whole lot of pictures was taking off flares, innner fenders, and door trim along with bumper caps and fog light. Will update as progress is made. Check out the pics!

Do you up north? That seems like quite a bit of rust there mate. Looks like time for a rear cut and fold aswell as a bit of rust repair. Not too shabby for 900 though.

No i don't live up north...Im in Nashville but the title and carfax say that it spent a few years in New York. This will be a 99% trail rig so most of the rust can be cut out and replaced without too much worry. i plan on long arms and new leafs in the not so distant future so hopefully i can work around most of it. tomorrrow in crunch time though... only two weekends to work on it before the WITC trip at the end of March!

Just a quick update, i am out of town for work until next wednesday but i ordered both the upstream and downstrean o2 sensors today. I got them from rockauto.com for $84 shipped which was unbelievable to me... And yes i got the NTK brand. I also ordered a daystar transmission mount from amazon.com because mine is broke and sounds awful when i start it or make left hand turns, got it for around $50 shipped. And last but not least i ordered a Cobra DXIV 40 channel mini CB and a Wilson Lil Wil antenna so i can yell at my girlfriend for taking a bad line in her Grand lol. (kidding of course). I also talked to Jason at rough country and he is giving me a great deal on a 3" full spring pack kit which i will pick up next weekend. I will post pics of all progress when i get home.

Thanks Yall!
