Default project "widow maker"

im 18 and love to fab up my own stuff. The first jeep is in the backyard as a strict parts rig these days haha

Here it is jeep number 2, project "widow maker"

1985 2.5l
5spd
4.10 gears
2inch bb
31 bf goodrich at's
partially tinted windows (po forgot to do half of them )

The plans:
3 inch rough country lift
rear bumper with tire carrier
new paint
more lights
cb with duel antennas
maybe some homemade rock sliders
tj flares
tube doors for summer

Day i got it

after is stripped the roof rack and homemade bumper from my first xj

Got the rear bumper and tire carrier built a couple weeks after i baught the new (posted a xj write up if your interested in seeing how i built it)

looks decent and gets the spare out of the back for a little more room for my "hell box" haha

I NEED SOME XJ WHEELING BUDDIES hahaha
me and my buddy took our rigs to the hills behind my house after a rain storm and did some light wheeling (home made flat bed on that ranger)

the 31s rubbed like a mother in the back, i guess the 2 inch budget boost wasnt meant to handle the 31s the previous owner tried to shove in there haha

i put on the rims and tires i had on my old xj, black steelies and some 30 inch good year all terrains also got the cb radio and duel antennas installed

COMING SOON
tube doors
3 inch lift
rock sliders
paint

ill keep posting updates as i go and will probably be asking tons of questions

So ive been moving kinda slow on it weather has been real funky lately and since it is still a dd im not diving too far into it till i can get some good weather.

going to buy a 3 inch lift in the next couple of days. i know i should spring for the full leaf packs but money is tight so i will go with the add a leafs till i can afford a full pack. My only question is the parts xj i have is a cherokee chief and has 5 leafs stock, the regular xjs have 4... so would it be a good idea to use the pack off the chief? i think it would stiffen it up and also hold its curve better to prevent the sag people get with aal???

so i got around to mounting up my lights for the back today, going to wire them soon still deciding if i want to drill a hole in the roof or go through the hatch.

They have 130w bulbs in them and will be used off road and for any idiots that decide to tailgate me at night

took it to the hills and played around for a little today nothing major, its time to replace the front drive shaft with my spare though, it is the "stick in a can" style cv driveshaft and is worn out

i decided to scrap the tube door idea and go with half doors

picked up these bad boys for $75

i put some lines on where i wanted to cut and how i wanted it to look

on to the fun stuff.... CUTTING!

i cut down the inside of the door and will make my own inside panel. It started to rain and the saws all busted on me so i am calling it a day, more pics and progress to be made tomorrow

good day today, got my front skid plate off the parts jeep and painted it red to make it stand out a little.

i worked on the doors, got them ready to weld in the finishing peices tomorrow

the weather finally came around so me and my buddy went out wheeling to test out the new skid plate haha

looking forward to getting rid of the AT's for a set of mudders, just waiting for a little more cash flow and the right deal. the AT's arent terrible just dont fling the mud like i would like. its coming along slowly, lift tires are in the works and be on by the end of summer. i keep looking at the pictures of my front bumper and its bothering me i didnt do a better job welding them straighter last year... so maybe a new bumper will be in the works as well.

Not really anywhere near here to go wheeling legally. But within a short drive there's all over the blue mtns and if you wanna go rock crawling there is virtue flats. A group from www.links4jeeps.com just went there a few weekends ago.
