did a little more work on the doors today, only spent about an hour actually working, i had to go get grinding wheels, fill the tank to the welder and other knick knack crap, about another day or so (depending on how hard i hit it) and they should be done

had problems with my welds melting through the thin metal so i played around with different settings, i will use bondo to give a really nice clean look.

what welder? a hobart?

i would have suggested cutting a hole in the top of your pieces and put a pipe in there with a bottom for a cup holder. (if that made sense) but yah welding sheetmetal takes a light touch, a whole lot of tacks spread out.

you might also want to start your welds on the heavier metal then drop down just a little to get it to the sheet metal. hope this makes sence to you. looks like you have some good plans make sure you keep posting pics

its a lincoln weld pak 100... something my dad baught few years back on sale and never uses so i have kind of taken over haha i am still learning on it and am in no way professional with it, i was really impressed with my welds on a demo derby car i built, they looked good and held up to the beating

i have seen the cupholder on one and liked it, i just never have the need for one, thats what passengers are for hahaha

alright so after a long weekend of unsuccessful turkey hunting i came home yesterday and finished up building the leaf packs for the lift. am going to get out side and start putting them in here in a couple minutes. i will take lots of pics and try to post the finished result tonight wish me luck

once the lift is on (weather pending) i am going to take the doors off and finish up the halfers this weekend... pissed that the half door project has been put on hold for so long! thought it would take a weekend but things came up and they are just sitting there ready to be done haha

here she is, stayed up till 2am last night getting it in... broke multiple craftsmans sockets, one on the spring compressor and one on the leaf bolts hahah

sitting next to my dads, he has a 1990 with a 1.75 inch bb and 30 inch tires

I left my old bb shackles in there and it sits a little taller in the back then i like, i am going to flex it on the curb and throw some tires in the back and take them across town to swap out rims, hopefully the load and flexing will settle the back down, if not then i might take them out and out some stock ones in... but these will help prolong the saggy look, just gotta drive it to see what i like.

so i got to working on the doors again yesterday, was making really good progress getting everything cut out to be welded on door 2 and then this....

a tree branch fell on our house, it had been cracked for a while and didnt look like it was gonna come down anytime soon (says my dad) haha no damage to the house thank god but that one in the bottom right is about a foot in diameter and about 40ft long. i had to stop working on the doors and get all that weight off the roof before it caused damage. next nice weathered day and i will be able to work on them again, i really need a shop so i dont have to depend on the weather for my projects.
