Default Project "Vanilla Gorilla"

Hey everybody, I just bought myself a 1998 Jeep XJ with 150,000 for $2200. I have officially named this Jeep the "Vanilla Gorilla".

The jeep runs and drives great, but it needs a little body work in some places.

So here she is after being wheeled, she's just a little muddy

After a nice little bath she's ready For paint

Some Masking

After a couple of coats

Ran out of newspaper.... had to use sisters Seventeen Mag....

I was going to finish the rest, but I was about to get rained out

More Tomorrow

Since my buddy can't ride in the front seat with me in this great Communist state of Illinois, I have to make a compartment for him in the back

The case he arrived in

Drilling some pilot holes

Attached to the back seat like it was meant to be there

alright a combination jeep and gun build!!! First the M4 you got to get an aimpoint sight for it, then combat sling...hey you'll need it when the zombies attack! hehe. And the jeep looks like a great canvas in which to create a monster! Good luck!

Thanks man, the gun was about half the price of the jeep though, but oh well, it's really fun to shoot

I'm living at home this year, and the campus is about 15 miles away, that will save me some money for a lift or wheels this fall

lol I don't know how much more will be done to the gun, accessories for that damn thing are way to exspensive hopefully the monster will be mostly complete by this winter

But before anything else I need to work on recharging the A/C and fixing the driver side window, which is off track

Is that some rust or leftover mud from the bath under the drivers side door?

It's just some slight rust on the rocker panel, really the only place that is rusty on this jeep

Did some more work on the gorilla today. Got the A/C charged and fixed and installed a ac plug in the center console. I was going to fix the driver side window today, but it was getting to late in the afternoon

Hey man could you do me a favor and take a picture of that M4 by the back window to get a size or message me the measurements of it from barrel to stock and top to bottom? i'm looking to buy one and trying to think of places to put it in the Jeep. it won't be in any kind of case.

Just a quick hijack. check out police car supply stores or web sites. You can find M4 mounts with electronic locks.. mount a hidden switch up front and the m4 to the ceiling thats what all the squads around my town do and they are hard to see mounted up there.

Sorry for the Hijack
