Just ordered my 2" budget lift from Darren at Rocky Road Outfitters same guy? in Utah so I can run 30s and get rid of the stock wheels & tires.
Too bad they killed production on the xj in 01, what in the world were they thinking?

I don't think they're the same. The place I ordered from is out of Washington state. I think we were lucky to have the xjs in production for as long as they were. The zj was supposed to replace it in the 90s, so we got some more years out of it.

Lift is in progress!

Got the rear leafs in. I'm certain I'll need shackle relocation brackets, but it'll work for now. Leaving the rear shocks for now and starting on the front.

Got the lift on and loving the way it looks. The only issue we ran Into was the track bar bolt breaking. Nothing that couldn't be solved with the gas axe though!

Yeah! I'm very interested, as I have a 2000 I hope to be lifting 2-3 inches. Looks great! Do you mind telling exactly what else you needed to do for the lift? Like track bar, brake lines, etc? Thanks and good luck!

I installed fixed lowers and an adjustable track bar. You can get away with the stock lowers though, but I'd really pickup an adjustable track bar. Since this XJ is going to see only street duty (for now), I kept the stock hoses. However, if you plan on stretching your XJs legs, I'd definitely replace them. If you plan on keeping your front sway bar you'll need either longer links or you can get sway bar drop brackets for the body mounts. If you have bad drive line vibes you can go with a transfer case drop or a SYE. It really depends on what your end use will be. If you have any other questions, lmk and I'll answer them best I can.

Now for the pictures. I was only able to take two of them in the shop. Eh, better than nothing.

In the above pic you can see where I started to remove the body mouldings. Turns out whoever painted it just sprayed over the old adhesive. Figures.

List of things I still need to do:

- Exhaust
- Valve cover gasket
- Rear speaker install
- Drain and fill fluids
- Brakes
- Axle U-joints
- Front tow hooks
- Hitch Install

I'm sure I'll find more to do to it...

I finally chased down my coolant leak to a split overflow bottle. I picked up a new one and installed it today. Ho, ho Chuck.

My dog was disappointed that she couldn't eat it...

I also installed some new rear speakers since the old ones were blown. I might install a sub as well. It's kind of nice having a daily driver that I can mod differently than Rattletrap.

Pic of Chuck out in daylight

Merry Christmas everyone!
