Default 88 Pioneer Build

I figured as many questions as I have I may as well start a build thread. 88 Pioneer I bought for my son. He turns 16 on Dec 26th. This is our first Jeep. I must say I am having more fun with this than any project Ive ever worked on.

Weve replaced a good many things thus far. All hoses, belts, O2 sensor, plugs and battery. Pull A Part has been very helpful. Theyve had 10+ Cherokees everytime Ive been. Ive got many questions so here goes.

while working towards getting our lift started I found this. There are 3 vacuum lines that come down to the front axle. It appears as though the green line is broken off. So I lifted one wheel and turned it and the front drive shaft turned. I know this isnt correct. Could someone help me out on this one.

Also found this. No keeper on bottom of coil spring. Either side. No keeper at the top. Is there supposed to be one at top.

Scored these for cheap. $80 on tires. Also have a RC 4.5 X Series lift.

If I'm not mistaken the vaccum hoses are for 4wd but i could be wrong. but in the keeper question there should be one on the axle in the none on top.

RC 4.5 X series lift. Jeep had a slight lift so it ended up being 3.25" taller.

the vacuum lines are your lines for your 4wd since you have a disconnect front axle. pre 92? had those. id find a dana 30 out of a newer jeep to swap in. much easier to just get rid of the disconnect.

as for the coil its only supposed to have that keeper on the bottom of it

Had some time off lately and boy have I been busy. Complete brake rebuild front and rear. Browndog motor mounts. And checked everything twice before we drove it. Then came the heartache. Death Wobble like you wouldnt believe. I will be taking it to an old school alignment shop Monday morning to get some alignment help. then I guess Ill go from there. My son was looking so forward to driving the XJ.
