Thanks DIRTRIDER. I just bought my father in law a Cherokee and he is a Russian linguist.
The purpose of the glint tape is to help see in the dark. My dash lights are not working at the moment. Plus it gives the Jeep more of a tactical look to it

Not too much to update. Been making trips to junkyard to get misc parts since I'm getting this XJ how I want and my in-law's "new" 1997 XJ.
So I gave them my battery and treated myself to an Optima Yellowtop.
Picked up a set of 1997 folding mirrors for $50.
Changed out my headrests to Wagoneer Limited leather headrests. They are actually really comfortable.
Got my dash lights working by bringing it to my buddy's shop. The headlight switch was messed up.
Started to upgrade the dash lights to blue LEDs. Only got the transfer and transmission done so far.
Also fixed my "low washer" light. I took out the bulb, problem fixed!

Found the "XJ Dash Light Mod" https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/xj-...26507/index10/ and decided to do it. $12 from amazon but I think I replaced too many in the cluster because my blinker and high beam indicators aren't working.

Did you fix your blinker and high beam indicators? If not, I have read you just need to swap the relays to an electric type one. I forget exactly what they are called, but it isn't blinking because there is less wattage going through the relay, and it doesn't have enough to make it flash. If you already fixed it, then nevermind. ;-) I am going to do the same LED lights. Love the look of blue. :-) Some great mods and ideas on your rig. Enjoyed reading it so far and looking forward to seeing what else you do. :-)

So I finally gave up on the LED dash lights. I didn't like the lack of indicators, not being able to dim the lights, and just got tired of the look it gave. Good thing I kept the old 194s.
Had a blinker light bulb die recently so one of my old 194s went in there.
I got an OEM cup holder for Christmas! So I'm up to 4 cup holders. 2 OEM and 2 from a universal one from Wal-mart.
Cold weather (around -15 degrees) is taking its toll on my Jeep. Had the radiator crack on me before Christmas. Needless to say I got a new radiator.

Yeah the weather here is just such a downer, too. Haven't touched my Jeep (for mods) in weeks now. I'm interested in your cup holder setup lol did you get the one that goes over the e-brake handle?

Yes it goes over the e-brake. It has about $11 shipped through amazon. Cheaper than quadratec.

Small maintenance update.
A few weeks ago I replaced all four shocks. The ride quality is significantly better. Well worth the $101 on Monroe shocks.
Last weekend the thermal relay started to act up. My blinkers weren't working but my hazards were working. That was $13. The new one is about one third the size of the original one.
Over the last few weeks by oil pressure has been reading high. It used to stay around 40, lately it would be around 60 sometimes hitting 80. NAPA was able to find a quality sensor for about $30. Also significantly smaller than the original part.
New tires are coming soon...

Got my new tires today from Firestone. They are 235/75R15 Bridgestone Dueler A/T. Took them out on the trails immediately after the shop was done. Way better than the 205/75R15 that came with my Jeep. IdleSerivice gave me an awesome coupon for Firestone, they were $1 over cost and 15% discount on the alignment and installation.
