for something like that i wouldnt use solid wire with gas. use the flux core .035 if you can and crank it up, slow your welding down and do multipule passes. looks so so far just finished reading the whole thread kinda got sucked in lol.

If you try welding again try pre heating the metal with a propane torch

(you don't need much just enough so the metal is hot, this does 2 things... helps prevent warping and the other is it will help the metal take a shorter thermal trip during the welding process)

use a C pattern to expand your weld puddle to grab more of the surrounding metal. You may need more then just a single bead in the joint.

Hey everyone, Im actually on vacation right now, but as soon as I get back, I'll get some pics of the new leaf perches welded on as well as start work on welding up my coil buckets for my D44. Anyone know of a CHEAP control arm mount ideas?

I did the chop top mod about 2 months ago I believe and I LOVE it!! Heres a pic just so you can see

last week I chopped my doors into half doors. I figured I run with them off anyways and my GF hates it so I chopped them (just the front ones). Ill get pics up when I get back from vacation. I plan on putting soft windows on that are removable, anyone got any ideas/plans for them? I've seen one guy do it before but thats about it and they werent really what I did.

So I decided this would be a good time to get started on my new tailight housings let me know what yall think. Oh and I was running out of gas so thats why some of the welds look like crap. So it'll look better when I grind them all down and paint the things black

oh and heres a pic of me and my brothers old toyota for s***s and giggles. Keep in mind it has a built Chevy 350 in it
