New axle is trussed.. Just needa rebuild the drivers side and it's ready to drop soon as I get the heep to the shop and running... And of course pick up the rear with matching gearing haha! Pushed the heep back in yesterday so I could level it out and dial in some things last minute before it heads out hopefully next week or just after Christmas

All leveled out at 7" total. Think I may have found the route of my problem as well. I believe a bad ground caused the ignition wire to fry, so I'm gonna make some mods to the wire and check and double check the grounds and hope and pray it's the fix I've been looking for!

Is it one of the bigger chassis grounds?

I'm thinking 35s maybe 37s, but we'll see how funds go.. And I think since I painted the block, one of the grounds isn't properly grounded and it caused the ignition to starter wire to short out at the ignition switch. So I'm gonna cut the connect, throw on a slide connector after cutting out and soldering in good wires and check and double check grounds. Probably replace the grounding strap with 4 gauge wire as well

So went ahead and cut the connector up so I could splice in a new slide connector for that burnt wire, still nothing. Gonna run through the grounds one more time tonight before I push it out of the garage again. Hopefully I can find it tonight or it's too the shop she goes

Was put into a good way to bypass my problem without taking it to the shop.. So on that note, the heeps probably going push button starter.. Saves my bank, and should let me dial in my timing and get her back going!

Yes and no... It cranks, but I've got weak spark. I haven't been able to diagnose it cause I can't crank it at the key. Pops is thinking I have the distributor set 180 off and rather it's sparking on the 2nd tbc which he said would be the exhaust cycle. I don't know too much about i6 yet or motors for that matter, so I'll just have to tinker with it haha

I thought that with these motors, the dizzy only goes in 1 way, and that it was impossible to put it 180 deg. off. Doesn't it have an offset slot and blade, like an air cooled VW?

You can install it wrong. The housing only bolts on one way. The shaft can be installed wrong plenty of ways.

Getting ready to throw in the push button starter setup. Went ahead and went with a 2 stage setup, still need the key to be in the on position however. Just gotta figure out where I'm gonna put the fuse and wire it up.

Well it cranks inside the cab again!! The battery is super super dead, so I'll have to get it charged up and figure my weak spark out and see if I can't get the timing dialed in and ready to go!

So now I've got no spark to little spark.. But what I'm lost at is I've got a brand new distributor, cap and rotor, wires, icm, and a new cps. But still doesn't wanna roll over.. Any ideas?? Timing maybe or the ECU??
