well today i went ahead and sprayed it with degreaser and pressure washed the housing... ha to do this acouple times... just for kicks i went ahead and sprayed the D44 front also but only alittle bit... its not on saw horses so everytime i hit the dirt with the pressure washer i got covered in GA clay... lol... i hit the 9in couple times like this and then decided to go ahead and cut off the shock tabs and spring perches... well the bad news here is this has been done before... i can tell because of the welds look like ****... some are burned deep and not even back up level with the surface... on the pass side it actually looks like the outer area has been welded back on after being cut off... and i did notice when i was unbolting it that the pumpkin did not sit even with the xfer xcase output... just thought this is how it was... but now im thinking they just did a shotty job on measurments... so some filling in of the tube will be required... the good news is it took only like 20 minutes to cut everything off... i just traced around the welds with the cutoff wheel on my grinder and beat them off with a hammer... this to ensure i didnt keep cutting and end up cuttin the tube itself... once beat off there was only weld left that could easiy be ground off... i had some FORD RED engine block paint in the shed so i threw some on till i can hit the whole thing with a wire wheel later... although FORD RED... FORD AXLES... might would make a statement under my black jeep... and i may keep them red i dunno... would be different and people would know they werent normal... lol... heres the pics!!

well i still had daylight left so i went to my buddies shop and pulled my rear leafs apart for the bastard pack... remember... i plan to run 37's on a bastard pack setup... lol... you will see... anyways they came apart pretty easily... the dang S-10 ones sucked to pull apart though... the clamps at the ends arnt clamps... there like 3/8 thick C shaped metal... i had to beat them away with the hammer... heck i may reuse them... cause there riveted to one of the leafs with one of them big body rivets that wouldnt beat out... so i just left them... of course i forgot my grinder to cut the eyelets off or id be in the middle of installing them right now... lol... after all this i started on the windshield... nope... its still in it... it was really really bad anyways but now its all busted up... lol...a hammer and a spade DOES NOT WORK... lol... nor does sitting in the seat and trying to kick it out like in the movies... lol... it just cracked even more... so ill have to do some research and see what i can do... i heard about guitar string thing but i dont see that working... no way... ill figure it out... BUT when i got home this was at my door

so after about 2 hours of searching for ford 5 on 5.5 16.5in wheels i gave up... couldnt find them... i went on to look for a new set of the military 16.5in 37' for my cummins... since ive now burned the two back ones off... and sure enough... 3 hours away i found a guy selling brand new ones WITH ford 5on 5.5 bolt pattern wheels mounted on them... no dang way... he wants a nice $650 for them which is more then what ive paid in the past and i plan to show him i can get them cheaper in hopes he comes down... but since im saving on shipping and i get the wheels i need for the jeeps new ford axles soon to go in... i almost couldnt turn it down anyways... but of course i had to email instead of call and i HOPE.... he still has them... if he emails or calls and says there sold already itll be like finding out santa aint real all over again...
and on this he never called back... but i got a set of 33's with about 25% tread left for 15in wheels... for free... and the guy at the army surplus place had a set of 15in white wagon wheels for a ford he let me get for $20 a wheel which isnt bad... i needed something and it was easy... even my JY wants $25 each and i would have had to pull them myself... so to set the axles and ill probly ride on them after the new motor and axles for a min till i can save and figure out a way to get the H1 wheels...

Also found another guy on CL who goes to jacksonville every so often to buy the 37's for him and his son and then acouple more sets to resell to make his money back... hes going monday right past me on the way back so hes gonna drop me off a set for the dodge... only $400 for 90% or better 37's... i wish i had it and i would tell him to grab me another set for the jeep... but 2 of mine have about 35% left and i got a brand new one for $50 so if i can find one more tire ill be in business for the jeep also... well heck... may as well tell him i want 5 then... duh... ill just run 2 new ones and 2 older ones for awhile... lol

theres a guy that wants all my drivetrain to convert his to 4x4... well all but the motor... so as soon as i can sell my motor ill be able to go get the 6.2... then ill have to figure something out for the motor mounts and the adapter and all that... which wont be bad...

the grand cherokee i made abunch of money off of swapping in a new motor i WAS planning to use that money for all of this... but then i came across this deal on a box van for my business and truck tires and now its all gone... but still went to a good cause... just to something alittle more important at this moment then my build... and no... i dont ever want to do a motor again on a WJ... lol... anyways since i now have a box van my work trailer is up for sale on CL... so once i sell it i should be able to cover the cost of everything else for the swap... i just gotta get that joker sold... lol...

Look for a D300 T-case.

There easily adapted to the turbo 400
